Hi everyone! Fr. David Anderson and Fr. Hezekias Carnazzo (I hope I spelled his name correctly!) had a webinar this evening (topic: Preparation for the Nativity). Fr. Carnazzo mentioned 20 Answers: Eastern Catholicism by Catholic Answers. I searched CA and can’t find it. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!
I’d be interested in reading that. By the way: Would you mind sharing with us Latin Rite Catholics what Eastern Catholics basically believe?
It was good to watch.

Did you attend tonight’s webinar, ZP?
That’s why I’d like to get that booklet. Depending on how they’re counted, there’s 22-24 Eastern Catholic Churches, so I can’t really answer your question. I’m familiar with the Byzantine Tradition.
Everything Orthodox, but in communion with Rome. Read DECREE ON THE CATHOLIC CHURCHES OF THE EASTERN RITE ORIENTALIUM ECCLESIARUM and St Pope John Paul II Apostolic Exhortation ORIENTALE LUMEN

And Christ Our Pascha!
In case you do not find what you are looking for. See this website: http://www.cnewa.org/default.aspx?ID=123&pagetypeID=9&sitecode=HQ&pageno=1
Close but no cigar. Thank you!
I forgot about the webinar!
It will be posted on line. Here’s the link:
And this is next month’s webinar series (3 weeks in a row!):
Don’t feel bad. I missed part of it because I was logging into the wrong webinar!
Thanks, ZP for the links.
It blows my mind. You guys emphasize the Incarnation and interaction with the Holy Spirit and not trying to define God but that God simply is?
Wow. I’m deeply impressed and I’d love to learn more of your beliefs and spirituality.
Royal Doors is a good place to start:
It has Christ Our Pascha, the official Ukrainian Greek Catholic catechism online (
http://catechism.royaldoors.net/)
loads of great articles plus the liturgical propers for Sundays and Holy Days.
This is the link for the next series of God With Us Online webinars: Baptized Into Christ - God With Us Online
You can register (just put that you’re RC in the info) and learn about the Mysteries of Initiation. It’s 3 Wednesdays in January because there’s lots to learn!
I think this is it:
That’s it! Thank you!
Overall, the best source I’ve found is the forums at byzcath.org. Of particular interest is probably the “East and West” forum. There are also links to various articles there as well.
Note that it is actually an Eastern Christian forum, and will not tolerate putting down, “correcting”, or dismissing Orthodox.
There are many very learned EC and EO there.
I picked up a copy of Catholic Answers’ 20 Questions: Eastern Catholicism and it’s been a mind blowing read.
I’m really impressed by the beautiful spirituality and liturgy ECs have.
Something that has really enhanced my faith is the concept of living the Incarnation and switching spiritual emphasis from the mind to the heart that was inspired by the East.
