Is the thing about 40 virgins true?
I’ve heard an affirmative answer from a Muslim. When I asked them what women get in paradise, she said they get a man who will do an erotic dance for them if asked.
I concluded that this particular Muslim was slightly insane. Can anyone provide me with the true answer?
Where do people get the notion that Islam means “peace”?
Hi
It is not mentioned in Quran the first and the foremost source of guidance for the Muslims, acceptable to every denomination.
If you think it is mentioned, then quote from Quran with the context of some preceding and following verses.
Thanks

not 40 , 72 .
Quran does not mention any specific number , it’s in Hadith .

Never heard of that . Quran says rewards are there for both men & women . I guess , rewards may not be exactly the same but all believers will be happy . They will be happy to know that God is pleased with them .
Hi
The word Islam is very much mentioned in Quran and it means peace.
Thanks
Actually they are 72 virgins per these two authentic hadiths:
1) Musnad Ahmed Hadith #10511:
“The Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him said that the lowest status of the person in Paradise has seven degrees and he is in the sixth one and above him is the seventh, and he has 300 servants, and every day 300 golden food trays served for him, in each tray a food color other than the other one and its delicious from its beginning till its end , and he says O Lord, if you authorize me to feed and give drinks to the people of Paradise it will not reduce from my food anything, and he has of the wives 72 Hours(Virgins) other than his earthy wives, and each Hour(Virgin) has a seat (place) of one earth mile.”

2) Sunan Altermizy Hadith #2485:
“The Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him said that the lowest person in Paradise has 80,000 servants and 72 wives, and a dome from pearl, peridot, and ruby as the distance between the Jabia city and Sanaa city.”

Although the quotes below from the Koran **do NOT **dictate number (#) of virgins, there are however many verses stating virgins <-plural…
Koran 2:25
And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.
Koran 3:15
Say: Shall I inform you of something better than that ? For those who keep from evil, with their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow wherein they will abide, and pure companions, and contentment from Allah. Allah is Seer of His bondmen,
Koran 4:57
And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall make them enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow - to dwell therein for ever; there for them are **pure companions **- and We shall make them enter plenteous shade.
Koran 55:56
Therein are those of modest gaze, **whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them. **
Koran 55:73
Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ? -
Koran 55:74
**Whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them **-
Koran 56:36
**And made them virgins, **
Koran 56:37 Lovers, friends
Koran 76:19
There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls.
Koran 78:32 Gardens enclosed and vineyards,
Koran 78:33 And maidens for companions,
Koran 78:34 And a full cup.
In 2000, German philologist Christoph Luxenberg published a book arguing that the word huri actually signifies white grapes. He based his interpretation on Christian descriptions of Paradise in the Aramaic language, in which the etymologically related word huri has a different meaning than in Arabic, the language of the Qur’an.
If not grapes, Muslim males are promised 72 translucent beings when they are in heaven. They are not 72 real human virgins.
Yea I have a question…
Why did Muhammad have sex with a 9 year old? Isn’t that like rape? Why couldn’t he have had sex with a 19-79 year old…but a 9 year old…that’s disgusting.

Kindly show me where in the Koran it says Islam means peace?
“Islam” comes from the same tri-consonantal root, S-L-M, as “salaam” (peace), but “Islam” does NOT mean “peace”.
Here is a list of words derived from the root S-L-M, not just in Arabic but in other Semitic languages too (primarily Hebrew)
Given there are women Jihadist and woman suicide bombers, your answer is interesting. What would the reward for women?
I am impressed.
This is correct. I give presentations on Islam around here and we actually have a graphic diagram explain the relationship between the words “Islam” and “Muslim” and “Salaam” which have the S-L-M root, but while “salaam” means peace, “Islaam” actually doesn’t.
People have the misconception, I think, because a few years ago people started making buttons and stuff and declaring “Islam is peace” or “Islam means peace” and ultimately people didn’t really understand what that meant.

The Reward of Women in Paradise

Allah, Most High, calls upon His servants to do their utmost in order to be favored with Paradise. For example, He says, (And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil). ) (Aal `Imran 3: 133)
In this context, Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi, former President of the Islamic Society of North America, states:
Jannah or Paradise is not for men alone. It is prepared for both, righteous men and righteous women. All the joys and blessings of Jannah are for both of them.
Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an that He put both Adam and his wife Hawwa’ (Eve) in Jannah after creating them, and He told them to eat and enjoy everything (except the fruit of one tree). [See al-Baqarah 2: 35; al-A`raf 7: 19] Thus, all the trees, gardens and rivers of Jannah are made for both men and women and they both will enjoy them.
All Believers, males and females, will enter the Jannah. Allah says, ( Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring) (ar-Ra`d 13: 23)
Further, Allah says, (Indeed, the people of Paradise will be happily occupied. They and their wives shall be in shades, reclining on raised couches. There are for them fruits and there is for them all that they ask for…) (Ya-Sin 36: 55-57)
In the Hereafter Allah will say to the Believers, (Enter the Garden, you and your wives, you will be made glad. There will be brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that the souls desire and eyes find sweet and you will stay there forever. This is the garden, which you are made to inherit because of what you used to do. Therein for you is fruit in plenty whence to eat. ) (Az-Zukhruf 43: 70-73)
There are many other places in the Qur’an where it is mentioned that men and women both will find their reward and none will be deprived. [See: Aal `Imran 3: 195; An-Nisa’, 4: 124; An-Nahl 16: 97; Al-Ahzab 33: 35; Ghafir 40: 40]
Paradise is described, for men and women, as being beyond what anyone can imagine.
Sometimes, when we have to explain complicated concepts to children, we end up using simpler words that they can understand, even though those words really don’t begin to explain what we’re actually trying to describe. Similarly, we find words in the Qur’an describing Paradise, but we also know that the only similarity between the things those words describe in our world, and what they describe in Paradise, is just the word.
For instance, we read about “wine” in Paradise. It’s called “wine” but all we know is that it’s not like wine in this world, the word is just being used to give us an idea.
So Paradise is part of the “Unseen” in which Muslims believe without fully understanding. There will be rewards beyond what we can imagine, only a taste of which have been mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith.
But the most beautiful parts of Paradise for the believing men and women aren’t these things which non-Muslims tend to get hung-up on. Muslims are actually looking forward to the presence of Allah and knowing He is pleased with them, and listening to Him recite the Qur’an.
Tabari IX:69 “Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us.” Killing is a big deal, why is it a small matter to Muslims? No wonder, they are constantly killing others. When they’re killing others, they turn on each other.

Joen :If Islam is a religion of love & peace, why do Muslims seek to kill all those who disagree with them?
ans. The Qur’an says about the prohibition of murder, “…Take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.” (Al-An`am: 151)
“Nor take life, which Allah has made sacred, except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority (to demand Qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the law)” (Al-Isra’: 33)
…The life of all human beings is sacrosanct according to the teachings of the Qur’an and the guidance of our blessed Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and upon all the Prophets and Messengers of Allah.
