I’ve been trying to get a Catholic bible and the ones that I’ve found thus far are so expensive that my tiny budget just doesn’t allow for it. I don’t get around very well so it makes it very difficult for me to get to the closest church. I would greatly appreciate any help/information given.
Digitally on Laudate or you can ask someone nice at parish and they might give you one. NAB is usually around 10 bucks at parishes that sell them. Almost as cheap as a pack of cigarettes.
Laudate requires an internet connection sometimes. You can get one saved onto your device. I’m assuming you have a smartphone cause you can still get them for free sometimes.
There was an internet service that used to mail them out free but idk. I think that is mostly a protestant thing these days.
You can buy this one Amazon.com for $6.10
You can read the Bible online for free too.
You can also buy a King James Bible at Dollar General for $1
The entire bible is free online from the USCCB web site. The Vatican web site has the entire bible online in many different languages. Using a search engine for a particular verse can help you find the passage you want even if you badly mangle the quotation. That is much faster than trying to find something specific in that big fat coffee table book with all the dust on it.
Go to your nearest Catholic church and ask for one. If you ask the priest, I seriously doubt he will turn you down.
I have a smart phone because of the generosity of a family member gifting it for Christmas the internet is sketchy most often. I’ve looked at the ones one Amazon and even those lower prices are beyond my budget with us barely covering bills and food. I don’t get out very often and the times that I do is mostly for doctors appointments. It’s very painful to move around much so we tend to keep my movements to home area. I will have to see if I can contact the local Catholic church and see if they can send one out to me since my husband is either sleeping or working most days anymore.
The Truth & Life Bible app has the whole Bible. Once you download the app, you won’t need to worry about an internet connection. Basic app is free; if you want the audio NT and/or the study notes those will cost extra.
City of Agape foundation, if you live in the us. They give free bibles, and even though shipping is $3 per bible, all you have to do is call Michael (at the number on their site) and explain, and he’ll send it free https://www.cityofagape.org/free-bibles/
I may just do that as well for when I’m not at home but want to be able to
read.

Pray very much and when reading the bible be sure your understanding fully aligns with the Catholic Magisterium
2nd Peter 3: 14-18
“Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, beware lest you be carried away with the error of lawless men and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen”
2 Peter 1: 18-21
[18] And this voice we heard brought from heaven, when we were with him in the holy mount. [19] And we have the more firm prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [20] Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation. [21] For prophecy came not by the will of man at any time: but the holy men of God spoke, inspired by the Holy Ghost.
DOUAY BIBLE INTERPERATION
[20] “No prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation”: This shews plainly that the scriptures are not to be expounded by any one’s private judgment or private spirit, because every part of the holy scriptures were written by men inspired by the Holy Ghost, and declared as such by the Church; therefore they are not to be interpreted but by the Spirit of God, which he hath left, and promised to remain with his Church to guide her in all truth to the end
May God Guide your path

Download the Catholic Bible App from App Store (if you have an apple device)
I’ll mail a nice one to you if you’ll send me your address. (Don’t post it on-line.) It’s got my name in the front cover, but otherwise it’s like new.
Before you send me your address, email me saying you want the Bible, and I’ll send you links to my credentials so you’ll have comfort that you’re not giving your address to a bad guy. When you’re satisfied you can send me a mailing address.
In my line of work I don’t have the luxury of anonymity, so you’ll see my email address below. It’s got my name in it. The rest of you rascals had better stay away from the electric fence . . . .
Prayers,
Greg
