I just prayed for you, for your wife, for your kids-to-be.
I believe in prayer and miracles, and in living in imitation of Christ’s obedience to His (and our) Heavenly Father. I pray very often for miracles.
I also believe in the comment of St. Ignatius of Loyola: “Pray as if all depends on God. Work as if all depends on you.”
So, I urge you to do what I imagine you probably are doing, which is doing every LOGICAL thing that will increase your earnings. You know the verse in the New Testament about how God causes it to rain on the evil people as well as the good people. (Mt. 5:45). So, you know that wicked and ill willed people will end up earning more than you if they have the better job skills than you, more valuable job skills, and do a better job of networking and marketing those skills.
Oh, I say all this not to discourage you! I do hope God grants you a miracle.
But please don’t demand or depend on a miracle in such a matter, or else you may find yourself getting bitter at God if he does not grant you a miracle.
Usually God wants us to learn and grow and be purified of sin by EARNING the things we need and want. I can’t quote a Scripture on that, but I think we all agree with that, and I think the Word of God does say that in many places.
In a way, God is doing a MIRACLE when a husband and father who is a prayerful righteous man is able to support his family by his own efforts, ingenuity and integrity. God works His miracle through that man’s work.
Be guided by Jesus: “He [God] causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Mt. 5:45)
If you like, mention your current job skills, experience, qualifications, etc., in an anonymous sort of way, and maybe we here in this thread can offer up some ideas that you have not yet thought of.
