I’m interested to know why some dioceses have different rules when it comes to baptisms during lent. Some allow baptism during lent while others do not? Also, if one diocese observes a day of obligation while the other does not can you cross and who should you be accountable to? I mean if you don’t go to mass on a holy day of obligation you commit mortal sin but if another diocese close by doesn’t observe it who should you listen to? Why isn’t there more uniformity?
The following link should assist you in better understanding the Catholic Church’s teaching on baptisms taking place during Lent. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please [contact Catholic Answers (http://www.catholic.com/home/contact.asp) directly.
