It’s All Saints Day and I found out this afternoon that my Aunt won’t make it pass this weekend. The nursing home called my cousin and he called all of us with the information.
So, our family is on the “death watch”, waiting for her to pass.
I pray that her transition is peaceful.
I ask for the intervention of the Holy Family to pray for our family during this sad time.
She was “a pistol” and the world will be a lot quieter w/out her in it. I feel bad because I didn’t make time to see her when I was in town last. I knew she was in a nursing home, but I just assumed that she’d be there for a longer period of time. (Yeah, I know what they say about people who assume things.)
I pray that she is received into the arms of our Lord. My heart is breaking. We weren’t particularly close, but she was one of the only female relatives I saw after my mom died. It meant a lot that she was around.
Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust down to hell, satan and all the wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen
O Most Merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray Thee, by the agony of Thy Most Sacred Heart, and by the sorrows of Thine Immaculate Mother, to wash in Thy Most Precious Blood Kal2012’s Aunt who is now in her last agony.
Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying. Amen
Christ Who was crucified for your sake free you from excruciating pain. May Christ Who died for Kal2012’s Aunt free her from the death that never ends. May Christ the Son of the living God, set Kal2012’s Aunt in the ever green loveliness of His Paradise, and may He, the true Shepherd recognize her as one of His own. May Kal2012’s Aunt see your Redeemer face to face and standing in His presence forever, may she see with joyful eyes Truth revealed in all its fullness.
Amen
I have also prayed that God will bless, strengthen and comfort you, your family and your Aunt’s friends.
Please God your aunt has a similar ‘transition’ to the one my dear wife had on the Feast of the Assumption.
[Three weeks before she died of complications from the cancer(s) she had she made a full confession, she then had daily Communion and the Last Rites the day before she died - I was on my way to see her when ‘felt’ her going and asked Our Divine Lord and Blessed Lady to take her by the hand to Heaven.
When I saw her, her face was smooth and serene, indeed it was a face that looked like ‘the cat that had been given the cream’!]
Your aunt, and indeed all the family and her friends are in my prayers. May God bless you all.
Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amoungst women,
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen:crossrc:

Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed his divinity and his genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom
and the Power
and the Glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
Ave Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum,
benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui Iesus.
Sancta Maria mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.
Amen
