3 wounded as off-duty US servicemen subdue gunman on Paris-bound train
Off-duty members of the U.S. military subdued a gunman “known to intelligence services” after he opened fire, injuring three aboard on a high-speed train en route to Paris from Amsterdam Friday.
Three U.S. servicemen were on board the train and overpowered the man when the train stopped in the northern French city of Arras, 115 miles north of Paris, French media reported. Some reports said the men were U.S. Marines but that could not be confirmed.
The suspect is a 26-year-old Moroccan, said Sliman Hamzi, an official with police union Alliance, said on French television i-Tele. He was later arrested.
The victims were identified as an American, a Briton and a Frenchman. Earlier reports said two American service members were among the injured. Two of the victims were in critical condition, according to a statement from the office of President Francois Hollande.

True Heroes. :gopray:

Without knowing this story well, it sounds like it could have been a really bad incident.

God Bless Our Armed Services and God Bless America.

Praying for the health & recovery of those injured. Praying for & thanking those who had the courage to take action. God bless them.

Yes, thumbsup to them but let’s not forget who America’s oldest Ally is. Would the USA even exist without their help during the American Revolutionary War?
During the American Revolutionary War (American War of Independence; 1775–1783), France recognized and allied itself with the United States in 1778, declared war on Great Britain, and sent its armies and navy to fight Britain while providing money and matériel to arm the new republic. French intervention made a decisive contribution to the U.S. victory in the war. Motivated by a long-term rivalry with Britain and by revenge for its territorial losses during the French and Indian War, France began secretly sending supplies in 1775. Spain and the Netherlands joined France, making it a global war in which the British had no major allies. France obtained its revenge, but materially it gained little and was left with over 1 billion livres in debts.
Benjamin Franklin served as the American ambassador to France from 1776 to 1785. He met with many leading diplomats, aristocrats, intellectuals, scientists and financiers. Franklin’s image and writings caught the French imagination – there were many images of him sold on the market – and he became the cultural icon of the archetypal new American, and even a hero for aspirations for a new order inside France.[1]

They had to act really fast to defeat the terrorist before the French could surrender again.😉

This is true courage, to act rightly even when you are afraid.

And where do these fine young warriors call home?? The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. !!!

:thankyou::thankyou:::thankyou:

A student and a National Guard member FYI were involved in stopping the gunman along with an Airman. An Englishman seemed to have helped as well.

Early reports indeed said a Marine or even 2, helped out, that is the way early reporting goes.
fox13now.com/2015/08/21/official-2-u-s-marines-stop-islamist-attacker-loading-automatic-rifle-on-train-in-france/ The early reports FYI seemed to be in error. Easy to point that out 24 hours after.

This is a report of American heroism. Don’t distract with “everybody deserves a trophy”!

Based on the reports, it appears the gunman’s weapon had jammed and no shots were actually fired. The brave actions of these military men clearly saved many lives given the other weapons in the terrorist’s possession. That said, it’s easy to surmise that had this taken place in the U.S. - say on a New York subway - questions would have been raised about the use of excessive force and racial profiling, and the reporting would have had more to do with “gun control” than heroism. Our media has betrayed us so badly.

I thought I read where he was demanding they give him back his gun too!!! What was up with this guy? He definitely wanted the kill and injure. Thank you God for letting his gun jam and letting these 3 Americans take him down.
