'6/6/06' Banner Flies Over City

The mark of the beast – sort of – flying over the sands of Daytona Beach this week incited a wave of excitement: the fearful kind.

The most memorable moment of Terica Washington’s 30th birthday Monday was looking into the sky and seeing an airplane towing a black banner with words written in white: “6/6/06 You have been warned”.

She was alarmed enough to call the FBI.

“It made me feel really creepy, especially in this day and age,” said Washington, who works at Ocean Walk Resort. Noting that June 6 is a Tuesday, she drew the connection to Sept. 11, 2001, also a Tuesday.

Creepy. Of course, nothing catastrophic happened on any of the other 6/6/06’s (1906, 1806, etc.), and if someone is planning a terrorist attack, wouldn’t they want to catch us off guard?
 
But, the Omen is being re-released on that date, and I think that there is a new Slayer CD coming out. It seems hollywood could not resist the temptation to honor Satan.

The advertisers’ sick idea of a joke scares concerned citizens and mocks Christianity.
 
I think it is a brilliant marketing campaign. It is for the remake of “The Omen.” Check out the trailer here. It isn’t gory or twisted, just really, really creepy.

What type of person just calls the FBI without thinking it might just be a marketing campaign? If anyone else can think of a better release date for a remake of one of the classic horror films, I’d like to hear it.

I think 6/6/06 would be a good release date for the anti-Catholic movie the “Da Vinci Code”.

William Donohue has been trying to put pressure on the Producer of the Da Vinci Code to label the movie FICTION on the screen at the beginning of the movie. The Producers won’t budge.

Also did you hear Fr. McBrien from Notre Dame is helping out in the writing of this movie? I think its way past time for Fr. McBrien to be expelled from the Catholic Church. He has been a dissenter of the Church for a long time now. It’s time to get rid of him.

hum, if we use ISO standard date format then the date doesn’t look very ‘bad’ at all. The ISO international date format would be 2006-06-06 or 20060606.

6/6/06 is the day before my 24th birthday. It means little more to me then that. This is just superstition that is being fueled by protestant fundamentalist zeal.
