Please offer prayers for a close and dear friend of mine. He has been struggling with kidney failure due to diabetes for the last 15 years. This has involved daily dialysis for 7 hours at a time. Reason after reason after reason keeps coming up to prevent him from being eligible for a kidney transplant. He is in pain, and he is tired. I know that he is giving up. He is tired of going to dialysis. He is tired of the shooting pain in his arms and legs. Just today, he began sending messages to each of his friends as a final goodbye. He indicated that he is not suicidal, just ready to die and hopeful that it happens soon. It breaks my heart.

His name is Gary. He has been coping with the effects of diabetes his whole life, and it really is remarkable that he has made it to this age (42). He will continue to live if he continues with the dialysis. But his depression and defeat are getting the best of him right now.

Please offer prayers for Gary, that he finds comfort and peace. I love him so very much, and it hurts to see him like this.

St. Michael the Archangel, please pray for Gary.

Prayer of praise and resignation to the will of God
Oh, what return shall I make to the Lord for all that He has done for me? Bless the Lord, O my soul, and let all within me bless His Holy Name.
Honour, praise and thanksgiving be for ever given to Thee, King of eternal glory. I offer Thee my whole being, my body with all its senses, my soul with all its faculties. I accept the death that Thou has destined for me with all its pains and sufferings. I unite it to Thy death, I offer it to Thee. Thou hast died for love of me, help me by Thy death. For Thy death is my hope. My Jesus, I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee, and I resign myself to Thy Holy Will.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for me now and at the hour of my death.
Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul.
Jesus, Mary, Joseph, assist me in my last agony.
Jesus, Mary, Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul with you in peace.

Have added Gary to my prayer list. Jesus have mercy on this young man. Jesus we trust in you.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.
