ABORTION, Prayers Needed!

My friend just e-mailed me and said a girl she knew was thinking about having an abortion and needs prayers. She is almost 16. She doesn’t want one but her parents told her if she keeps the baby the will kick her out. PLEASE pray for her and her child (and her parents) that they will see the truth and not end a innocent life. PRAY HARD!!! 😦 😦 😦 Thankyou!

The very first thing your friend needs to do (after praying!) is to get her friend to go to a Pregnancy Resource Center in her area. I volunteer at one myself, and I can tell you that these folks will give her the guidance and direction she is looking for to make the best decision for her and her baby. She’ll get the honest truth about what abortion is and does. The first thing they want to know is: Does it hurt? (Yes!) and is this really a baby (Yes, YES!) Many centers have the resources to provide a free ultrasound for girls who are abortion-minded. Either right there at the center, or via prolife physicians in the area who are willing to show the girl her ultrasound images at no charge.
Did you know that 95% of women who see their baby in utero change their minds about abortion?
Anyway, I will indeed be praying for this young lady and her precious child.

If she is serious about keeping the baby, tell her to get to a church and contact PRO LIFE group in her area. our prayers are with her and you.
 
Another way Pregnancy Resource Center counselors can help is by working with the parents if they are willing to talk. Even if they are not, these advocates are trained to help the young girl deal with parents like this, and have countless community resources at their fingertips to help the girl find housing and prenatal care–even insurance if necessary.

To find a local PRC, check in the yellow pages. Call the ones who offer free pregnancy tests–those are the ones that are usually PRCs that don’t refer for abortions.

I have a few friends who have done this. They have all said if they had to choose all over again, they would choose the child over their family. The regret and guilt they suffer from is astronomical. One had a abortion five years ago, she can’t go near an elementary school without crying and wondering what her child would have looked like.
I pray your friend will make the right choice and that her family will choose to do the right thing as well.
I also pray that if she chooses the child and things go badly with her family, she will have a loving place to go to live.
Has she looked into some of the church or charity groups for help and support?

The girl needs to get counseling from a Crisis Pregnancy Center. They can give her financial and legal help as well as the emotional support to resist this coersion by her parents. Her parents will most likely come around if she resists this pressure to abort.

The CPC can give her family the counseling and information they need to see that abortion is not the solution.

Look in your yellow pages under Abortion Alternatives or Adoption. Or, look online for Crisis Pregnancy Centers like Birthright, they have a toll free national hotline.
 
Are there any pregnancy crises centers in your area? And is there any way to help this girl in a practical way? Somewhere she could stay or a way to persuade her family to have her give her baby up for adoption?

How sad when the parents pressure a girl to get an abortion. Where is the “choice” in that? Or in the pressure and coercion put on her by a boyfriend or a husband or a boss, etc.? Whose choice is it really? Certainly not the girl’s :mad:

When I was in adoration earlier today I was praying a general prayer for people similar situations. Interesting…

There are so many people who would love to adopt this child, including my husband and myself. Feel free to PM me for our adoption web site.

I will continue to offer prayers up for this girl, her baby, and her parents.

This pro-life site provides a lot of information and support for girls in crisis pregnancies and also lists the horrible physical and psychological dangers of abortion, short-term and long-term.

A lot of crisis pregnancy centers also provide ultrasounds to help the mothers see that their baby is real. Perhaps your friend could have an ultrasound and show it to her parents and ask “Do you really want me to kill your grandchild?”

Since she is young, she might want to consider adoption for her baby. We are the parents of two adopted children and are forever grateful to their birthmothers for sacrificing 9 months of their lives so their babies could live and be loved in a family who longed for children for many years.

I invite everyone to start a Spiritual Adoption of the Unborn Child.

This committment to pray for an unborn child that you spiritually adopt for a nine-month period was introduced to our parish by a polish priest. We will have a mass this Saturday, March 25th (the Feast of the Annunciation) to begin our second spiritual adoption.

It’s a very easy thing to do…all of our children love doing as we pray it as a family. This year, we are also trying to get all the Knights of Columbus and their families to take on the spiritual adoption.

I am attaching a brochure with full details. Simply put, it entails the following:
  • One decade of the Rosary
  • The special Spiritual Adoption daily prayer
  • A personal undertaking
May God bless the girl considering the abortion…may she get the encouragement she needs to keep her child.
