Has anyone here flown with holy water? Is it imprudent to bring holy water in a small container through security in case they throw it out? Im thinking of putting some in a new contact lens case. Has anyone done this before? I bless myself before bed every night and would like to continue while I am on vacation. Thanks!

No. I don’t bring anything that can end up in the trash at the TSA checkpoint

I’d suggest you use this as a chance to visit a parish and make use of the sacramentals available there.

I would get a medicine bottle —that is real and put the holy water in that. And if they ask you is it medicine. Well yes — and in your mind add – it is medicine for the soul. If they don’t allow it, then let it onto some surface of the airport --surly a few demons will run as fast away as they can.

At the TSA line the bottle of water is going to go in the garbage. Period. If it were “medicine” you would have to produce a valid prescription.

Should this be a must, put the bottle in your checked luggage.

O I guess in the past four years TSA has changed–not a fan of flying since 9/11 – It would be better to profile like Israel does but we don’t but that is another topic. Yes – put it in your luggage or go to the nearest church or priest.

I always take a small bottle with me and have brought a number of bottles back. In Rome it’s not unusual to see them labelled as a suitable size for airport security requirements.

If you’re traveling in USA and TSA allows you to bring the little baggie of toiletries including liquids in your carry-on bag, you can put it in a mouthwash bottle and include it in the baggie as long as you don’t exceed the amount of allowed ounces. Note that if you’re going internationally, the baggie of toiletries might not be allowed, in which case anything liquid needs to go in a piece of checked luggage.

You can always put some holy water in a tightly sealed bottle- I recommend a screw top plastic bottled water bottle, like Dasani; don’t use any pretty holy water bottles, they may leak - and put it in your checked bag. Be sure not to fill it totally full due to pressure changes. If it leaks, you’ll just end up with your clothes getting a little Holy and wet. I have brought back Lourdes water and Sea of Galilee water in this way in my checked bag.
