As Israelis Are Tried in a Palestinian’s Murder, Agonizing Intimacy in Court

The teenager, a second youth and one adult, Yosef Haim Ben-David, 30, are on trial in Jerusalem District Court, charged with the abduction and premeditated murder of a Palestinian teenager, Muhammad Abu Khdeir. He was snatched off a street near his East Jerusalem home, driven to a forest, beaten unconscious and burned to death in the early hours of July 2, 2014.

Muhammad Abu Khdeir was killed on July 2, 2014. The last war between Israel and Hamas had its first anniversary on July 8, 2015.

I think the key words here are “persistent rocket fire from Gaza.”

The Israeli response may have been overkill or the byproduct of more sophisticated weaponry.

Either way, a terrible situation.

In the U.S., it is very difficult to find unbiased media coverage regarding the conflicts in this region. I struggle with forming an opinion fo this reason.
