I was going to say sign me up (I could use more sporting rifles :D) but since it’s a raffle forget it. They are trying to get money.

For those that will cry “what about good, old, wimpy Jesus? He’d hate anyone who’d even think of buying a weapon” -

Luke 22:36-38 - Revised Standard Version (RSV)

He (Jesus) said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one. For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, ‘And he was reckoned with transgressors’; for what is written about me has its fulfilment.” And they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” And he said to them, “It is enough.”
And of course you know that Christ was there endorsing ownership of guns. 🤷

Genesis 49:11
He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt 45 to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.

all this time I thought that verse was describing a comboy. 🙂

I just don’t know. First an AK15 is not a hunting or sport gun at all. It only exists for one reason…to kill human beings.

And just an awful lot of people seem to misunderstand the second amendment. Many of them skip over the part about militias and their necessity and seem to think that every Tom, Dick, and Harriet has the right and perhaps the responsibility to own a tank and nuclear weapon.

And why? To violently overthrow the government if it does not stay far enough to the right? 😦

When Jesus said he came not to bring peace but a sword, I do not think this is what he meant.

I only have a problem if they were giving out AR-15’s. Everyone knows that God’s chosen weapon is the AK-47.

The Lutheran interpretation of the passages about weapons in the Bible is that we’re called to be able to defend the innocent and our neighbors.

A lot of people mistake the passage of “Live by the sword” to mean “don’t own a sword” - that’s not the case, as the apostles brought swords for defending themselves - though certainly not for aggression. We’re even told "take your money and a traveler’s bag. And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one! "

Frankly, as far as weapons - Jesus calls into question the necessity of standing armies, pre-emptive war, and weapons of mass distraction more than personal ownership of small arms.
