I have been trying to figure out a career because I’m turning 18 soon and about to graduate highschool.

I want to make sure that I’m content with the vocation I pick and I want to do something that involves charity so I went ahead and joined the fire department as a volunteer.

Recently the idea of being a missionary has interested me. My spiritual director said you can be a missionary in the United States and you can spend more time at home than during mission. I don’t really care about how much money I get for it as long as I get the necessities of life.

Any more details on how to become a missionary and what it’s like would be appreciated.

If you can find Churches who are going to do mission trips, that could be a start. Mission trips help you engage in your faith life and form a deeper connection with God. My call from God too is to be a missionary and I help the community by serving others with Church groups or just by being a kind person. Pray for a little bit by praying a rosary for vocations or reach out to missionaries and if you have any questions, ask them. Ask God if this is truly what he wants you to do for your life. I’m sure he will answer you. God has given me so many signs when I ask him if being a missionary is what he wants me to do and in some way, he always answers. I will pray for you and your vocation!
