They’re not being charged.

They were arrested and went before a judge to see if they would be charged.
Many have were released and all charges dropped.

Jim
I don’t think any charges have been dropped.
I understand that the cops can’t immediately tell the good guys from the bad buy the guy bringing the suit claims he was in the restaurant hiding under a table whn the shooting broke out.

I blame the DA for not dropping charges and judges for not significantly reducing bail.
The cops could show some discretion once it became clear that a guy they arrested was a business owner with no criminal record but good luck with that.

If they had not acted as they did, the same anarchists, cop-haters would be blaming them for the bloodshed that would have ensued for failure to act. The same no-win position occurs when dealing with gangs. Police either hate young people, or let young people rule the streets with violence, depending on whether they act or not.

… even an Evangelical Christian biker group called “Honor Bound”.
I mam sure they were just there for the food, and Parish Council will be meeting at Hooter’s.

If a local group of Crips started a riot in a bar over territory, I would not be sympathetic with a group of altar boys meeting there for a “dress like a banger” party.

It’s improper. It’s a matter of guilt by association and they don’t have any evidence to justify the bond or holding them for so long,” Alan Bennett, a lawyer who represents a still-jailed grocery store manager and father of four, told the L.A. He may or may not be right, I don’t know, but it is hardly damning to the justice system that a defense attorney claims that his client is innocent and that he/she is not being treated fairly.

You are absolutely correct.

Even in the example I used with the Mafia, it is showed to be a highly secured private place they would meet at.

Though, I think there is the possibility, this meeting may have happened in the past without incident, perhaps yearly and some persons may well have not been aware of the tensions between the Cossacks and the Bandidos. Someone could have been from some tiny town and unaware as well.

According to biker Attorney Stephen “Bowtie” Stubbs and other sources, the gathering at Twin Peaks was organized by the Texas Confederation Of Clubs, the Cossacks, Scimitars, and Bandidos were not members, nor were they specifically invited to attend.

From the Tx CCO&I calendar, it appears the Region 1 meetings were happening ~every other month, some months there was no regional meetings but statewide meetings/rallies. Interestingly, they are at a variety of venues vice being held at the same place.

(Note, all the other regions also appear to be regularly holding meetings on roughly the same basis, and there are 12 regions listed.)

The need to withhold the information pertaining to an open and pending case in order to deal with the detection, investigation, and/or prosecution of a crime is a compelling reason for nondisclosure,” wrote Judith Benton, assistant city attorney.
Veteran civil attorney Bill Aleshire of Austin, Texas, said Waco’s argument still doesn’t allow the city to circumvent rules on providing basic public information that have been in place nearly 40 years.
“That’s just bedrock open government law,” Aleshire said.news.yahoo.com/waco-police-seeking-to-bar-information-about-texas-biker-shooting-034142932.html
I think this case is looking more and more suspicious all the time.

Two attorneys disagree. Imagine that. In cases with pending litigation, protection of city assets has always trumped public disclosure, until the litigation is completed. Bill Aleshire of Austin no doubt knows this, but again he is a civil attorney, and he is from Austin.

Yes, people need transparency in government, but they also have the right not to shell out extra tax money from every citizen to pay some blood-sucking lawyer. The public can have both, eventually. Once the litigation is over, all the information requested can be released.

Problem being that the journalists are in such a rush to get a story out that they do very little fact checking. Print quotes of spokesman from anybody related to the story with no checking or counter to their statements. On top of which many appear to allow their own biases to portray the story with some slant they approve of.

Than the public, who won’t bother to go looking into the facts, holds onto the way the incident was initially portrayed. They never hear the follow-up which contradicts virtually everything initially put out by spokesman. Then there’s outrage over a perfectly logical and just verdict in a case where the jury went by the facts vice the initial media accounts.

First came a few pistol shots, several witnesses said, then a barrage of rifle fire during the shootout last month at a Waco restaurant favored by bikers. But authorities still have not said how many of the dead and wounded were the result of police fire.

Police have identified only one assault weapon, a semi-automatic gun that fires high-powered ammunition, among the firearms confiscated from bikers, and that was found in a locked car after the shooting ended. But several witnesses — at least three of them veterans with weapons training — told The Associated Press that semi-automatic gunfire dominated the May 17 shootout that left nine dead and 18 wounded.star-telegram.com/news/local/crime/article23286006.html

This is the same as “Hand up dont shoot” which we now know is 100% untrue. The bikers are trash and they need to be ran out of town.

They are starting to do it here in TN. Just Friday the condemned a house that was noted for drug deals happening at the door. Where ever these people live, condemn the home. When an officer see someone on a motorcycle that wears a vest, pull them over and inspect the bike. If anything it wrong have it locked up. Its a $500 fines to get it out.

Protest is under way. Some interesting signs and t-shirts at the scene wacotrib.com/news/twin-peaks-biker-shooting/updated-hundreds-of-bikers-protest-at-courthouse/article_8863a871-d6af-58bf-831e-ff336d87d281.html

When they look at the photos anyone with this on their vest are plain trash, Bandidos and Cossacks. Round them all up and put them in jail. Use Rico laws to put them there. These thugs rape, murder, buy and sale drugs, and other things that are against civilized men.

Why is this a news story. Of course the police are not answering questions, at least every question. That is what investigators do in an on-going investigation. That is also what civil defendants do when they are sued. If it was any one but police doing what everyone else does, this would not be questioned.

So, you don’t believe in having proof of a crime? Just lock people up for their T-shirts?
