^ To add to what DRonald mentioned, Muslims point to one or two Hebrew words in the Song of Songs which sound(s) like the name of Muhammad.

Muslims also bring forward the passage in Deuteronomy chapter 18 which speaks of “a prophet like Moses”, arguing that this Jewish patriarch and Muhammad have various things in common.

Please see “Are there Prophecies about Muhammad in the Bible?”, “Is Muhammad predicted in the Gospel of John?”, “The Prophet of Deuteronomy 18:18”, “Who is the Prophet of Deuteronomy 18:18?”, and “Was Muhammad the Prophet like Moses?
Please point out to me which Muslims clerics actually use Bible verses?

The kind that do apologetics (propaganda?) aimed at Christians, surely… but that category includes Muslim clergy and laity (Shabir Ally, Jamal Badawi, etc.). You can follow the links in my previous post for specific examples.

One thing I think about Muslims, they have a healthy respect for Allah(God).
They will give up their life for Him!
WE are called to follow Christ, and are told to
SUBMIT to one another out of respect for Christ,(1 Pet 5:5)
who prayed for our unity! We HAVEN’T done that!
Look at the Christian Church, it is divided into hundreds of
factions! May God HELP us!
Muslims dont give their lives for God, but rather for the 72 Virgins they’re promised. Not the best of reasons, really. In fact, I’d dare call it Lust.

Im sorry but these guys you point out are small timers. In my neck of the woods, these guys could be easily banned by the authorities for breaking the peace and the Grand Mufti here would gladly agree with it.

We live in a free society so the best thing is to fight fire with fire and put up billboards that say Jesus isn’t Muslim.
If your going to fight fire with fire, you should put up " Mohammed was a Christian, and we all believe in God."

I would rather put up a sign about the Fruits of the Spirit. 🙂

or perhaps quote Jesus “No one comes to the Father except through me” and “the Father and I are one” That’ll really shake it up. 😃

Well, the kind of Muslims who cite biblical passages as predicting Muhammad are also the kind who debate Christians in the West. It’s a specialized field, given that most of the global Muslim population lives elsewhere.

Well, why? Muslims making (bad) arguments against Christianity is nothing new. If the grand mufti has a problem with the polemical approach, he need only spend one afternoon to examine his copy of the Qur’an. The gentleman will have to abandon Islam at once, for it definitely has some less-than-pleasant, not to mention less-than-accurate, things to say about Christians.

Sure.
Well, why?
The concept of free speech is different here. One is taken to task for disturbing the peace built up here (because a Generations effort could be wiped out in days:eek:).

I agree. 😃

However, Muslims that I know focus on prayer rather than debating.

This is why I don’t see how they can claim Mohammed is in the bible
I cannot understand there notion they go back to Father Abraham, well first of all Mohammed did not come about until the 6th Century, Father Abraham lived approx. 40000 years ago ( 2 + 2 does not make 4 here) Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, now he had Ishmael by his servant maid Hagar, so was illegitimate, and Mohammed claims Ishmael is a descendant, if so then they should believe in the Old Testament and the 10 Commandments. The claim things which don’t relate in the time frame of when Mohammed came about, the major religion that believed in one God was the Jewish people at that time, no Moslems around at the time of Father Abraham, the Jewish Religion is the pre cursor for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ. That is the end. There are no other religions after Christ set up His Church. - the Catholic Church. To do so your only reinventing the wheel.

Well, if one was a Muslim, one would be probably brought up believing it and never agree with what a Christian would say. And that’ll be it.

The word illegitimate, about Hagar’s child would shock a Muslim. They would only say that Hagar’s(Hajira in Islam) child was the eldest son of Abraham thus legitimate.

Sounds about right. 😃

Muslims can put up the billboards, but its up to Christians to be learned enough to respond to the error presented. We have no good reason to anacrhonistically apply the title Muslim to Jesus.

The same way we claim Jesus is in the OT – prophetic passages placed by an omniscient God.

I don’t agree that Muhammad is referred to in the Bible, of course, but then the Jews don’t agree with us that all those passages of their scriptures we cite refer to Jesus.

Usagi
This is on point.

What Christians think of Muslims and Prophet Muhammad, is what Jews think of Christians and Jesus.

Jews, Christians and Muslims do not understand the Bible in the same way. Each religion has their own theology. And of course each group is going to think they are right and the other group is wrong.

Amen.

Some Christian apologist should set up a debate with this group and, for its members, demolish once and for all the ideas that Jesus was Muslim and Muhammad was predicted in Scripture.
Some Jews should set up a debate with Christians and demolish once and for all the ideas that Jesus was the messiah and was predicted in Scripture.

Always turns nasty when you go back one Abrahamic religion huh?

Oi! Be nice!
This statement is like me saying:
"Christians do not submit to God because they love him but because they fear hell. Not the best of reasons, really. In fact, I’d dare call it cowardice!

Some Christians do submit to God out of fear. Not ghe best reason, but it isnt a sin to do so.

Giving your life “for God”, which in the case of 72 virgins is really just for a lustful reward, isnt the best reason and is a sin.

Jesus said there would be no more prophets after Him, the only ones that will come will be false. Muhammad came after, thus being false.

The Jews rejected Jesus not because He didnt fulfill the prophecies (He fulfilled all 300 something of them), they rejected Him because He wasnt the rebellious warrior messiah they wanted, but instead a messiah who taught to love their enemies.

I think that would support the first billboard. Depends what one means by was. Is it was Christian till his death or was Christian until his visions telling him he is the last prophet and Jesus was just another prophet not the Son of God himself and the crucifixion happen with a substitute which is what Islam teaches. If one put up a billboard that stated Mohammed is a false prophet, it probably would be burned by a Muslim in defense of their prophet. We should take advantage of our freedom while we have it and answer the billboard with another. Maybe we all should brain storm here to come up with something that will answer it back.

Indeed! I suggest “Muhammad was under demonic influence during his time as a ‘prophet’–look no further than the Islamic sources”.
