I was wondering about this. My personal opinion is no, no matter the charity he does.

You may find that your opinion is at odds with the Judge of souls, Jesus:
see Matthew 25 verses 31-46
esvbible.org/Matthew+25.31-46/
A homosexual can remain chaste or sin like any heterosexual.
If either resolutely avoids sin, or sin and truly repent with a firm amendment of their lives, and live lives of practical charity to others…Jesus’ words speak for themselves.

Fortunately for all of us, as none of us living are without sin of any kind,
God is our Judge.

Of course he can.

I’m sure all of us suffer from the effects of sin.

BTW A homosexual may break the 6th commandment by following his or her sexual attraction, but those who denigrate them, pre-judge them, and shun them are breaking the 5th commandment: Thou Shalt Not Kill.

And that is a worse sin.

You can say that potentially everything is possible, but I don’t think that he is psychological fit to do them. He puts himself limits…

“homosexual” I meant a one that believes in homosexuality and practice it, not one that fell and repent…

How would one’s sex life effect charity towards others? If you have sex with someone of your own sex in the morning, and then spend the rest of the day helping the poor, the sex in the morning cancelled out all you did for the rest of the day?

A homosexual person that is actively homosexual is capable of loving others and doing good works.

Let’s hope and pray that they receive the grace and strength from the Lord to be chaste.

If you see a homeless and in burst of charity you give him a $20 bill, but that very moment you regret it because actually you think is too much, you give the money but there is no charity done…

And this applies to the topic how???

Just FYI-There are a lot of people on this site with gay children, friends, siblings, etc and a good many of them struggle with how to reconcile that loved one with their own faith. Outrageous, unsubstantiated claims like this will only hurt those people.

I am a fornicator. Any ill will you have towards homosexuals or any thoughts you have of them not being able to be kind, loving, or capable of doing genuine good deeds feel free to place on me instead.

Well, of course he can! I don’t see how any reasonable person could say otherwise.

Think about what you are proposing for one moment. Perhaps if I paraphrase, you will see the answer clearly:
Your comment essentially says “Is it possible for a certain group of human beings to be capable of loving their neighbor?”

My question to you: Is it possible for a human being to be **incapable of the ability to love their neighbor?
No. Every human being is capable of the ability to love, regardless of their temptations, dispositions, or inclinations.

Later in the comments, you clarify that you mean homosexuals who are actively pursuing a gay lifestyle. The only difference that this makes is this: “Is it possible for a human being who is a sinner to be capable of the ability to love?”
And the answer is unchanged-- We are ALL sinners, so how would that make them different than us? If their charity “didn’t count,” then neither would ours.

Homosexuals are indeed capable of loving their neighbors, either way you slice it.

I beg you to read the relevant sections on homosexuality from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
CCC 2357 describes homosexuality
CCC 2358 describes how Christians ought to respond to them: with “respect, compassion, and sensitivity”, etc.
CCC 2359 describes how homosexuals are called to lead chaste Christian lives.

Peace to you; I hope this helps to clarify.

Is this a serious question?

My answer would be YES, a homosexual could do that. I’m curious as to why you said no, regardless of what charitable acts they do.

I had the feeling that charity is considered only the material part that reach a poor. It is you who has to reach the poor.
I have seen active homosexuals have genuine concern for others. All the good you or I and others do comes from the grace of God that is freely cooperated with.

We need to pray for each other to follow Christ more closely.

Of course. Why not?

Can someone who masturbates love his neighbor? Can someone who watches porn love his neighbor? Can someone who has premarital sex love his neighbor?

Of course they can and I don’t see why you’re making a distinction for one kind of sexual sin.
