There are two, mutually exclusive, churches occupying the same space.

“The response of the Holy Father, given through the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to the delegation of the German Conference, that the Conference should discuss the drafts again and try to achieve a unanimous result, if possible, is completely incomprehensible. The Church’s doctrine and practice regarding the administration of the Sacrament of the Eucharist to Protestants is perfectly clear.” - Cardinal Eijk

Is Pope Francis trying to lead from behind or something? He’s still the Pope; bishop’s conferences are still no more authoritative than the bishops are; and this is precisely the sort of thing the Pope is supposed to resolve.

We not only teach by words, we also teach by our actions; hence the popularity of the saying: “Preach the Gospel always; when necessary, use words.”

The Pope says the Eucharist is not a prize for the good but medicine for the sick, but like all medicines, if more is taken than the patient can deal with, it can worsen or even kill the patient. And this is in the Bible the Protestants say they base all their beliefs on.

Yes, there is. And the sooner we admit it the sooner those who wish to adhere to the totality of Church teachings can coalesce and form Traditional Parishes with Traditional Priests. This is schism, we just need to admit it and move on. pretending that all is well has worn quite thin.

Traditionalism is not the answer. If it were then all the people who were raised Traditionally would not have done all the things you consider so terrible.

True, but to me it looks like one of them is just so hellbent on dismantling the other. I don’t even speak as a traditionalist. My sympathies always lied with the JP II, Benedict wing. The problem with modernists is they have a really tough time leaving others alone; they are activists, innovators. This will never stop; there will always be new changes they must implement. All the conservatives want is the Church as is. Status quo. This happened to Anglicanism. They tried to have liberal and conservative wings too. The conservatives were driven out. Things like gay marriage were open to debate, not anymore. It doesn’t stop until the pews are basically empty.

Yes, the bad joke is that so much of what the “progressive” wing of Catholicism wants is what Anglicanism tried decades ago. We see how well it worked out for that dying sect.

Progressivism is tied to the same worldly demonic spirit that instituted the Enlightenment and the Reformation as well as the various forms of Marxism/Socialism/Communism. It is an all encompassing demonic mindset that must destroy every instance of God and His natural law and replace it with a false idol of Man centered creation and self rule.
