Three possible outcomes,

He won’t stand trial
He will stand trial over all of the complaints
He will stand trial over some of the complaints

2 and a half hours till it starts. He will know in 4 Hours.

So, what’s the climate there? Are the local Catholics supportive of him?

The magistrate hasn’t finished yet. They are still in court working through what he will and won’t stand trial for.

There is going to be a mixed bag because Ballarat is a ground zero for a lot of this stuff. Support and throw him in jail and lose the key.

It’s going to be really hard now for people to separate this from the ‘ he should have done something when Risdale was offending here’

Cardinal Pell will plead not guilty.

its going to be really difficult to get a jury
The country is nearly split 50/50 Christian/Non-Christian with 22% identifying themselves as Catholic according to the 2016 Census.

With data, I may be inclined to disagree.

Interesting a Jury can be 12 to 15 people down under.

i am Australian. The entire country, believers or not, are well versed in the historic sex abuse that occured. Its going to be very difficult to get a fair jury. Especially if its called up from the Diocese which is almost half the state of Victoria.

All quiet today. Nothing new. Except ribbons going up on the pool fence now.
