Some of the threads had me in a nostalgia about my Baptist days and some of our hymns. I enjoy debating the theology of “Amazing Grace”, but some songs are so out there that they are beyond debate. Since we all bring our own experiences into the church,
what songs have you come across that are so obviously non-Catholic that their it is beyond reasonable debate?
I am takling about songs that if you heard in Mass would make you want to run out the front door, if only to double check the sign in front of the church. I’ll start with the two that got me thinking.
“I’ll See You in the Rapture” (enough said)
“Me and Jesus” - got our own thing going? We don’t need anybody to tell us what it’s all about? I don’t think any church has believed in this, at least not any church with more than one member. Maybe that guy alone on the tropical island used in many an argument?
