Read the Bible. That thing is based on this “shroud of turin” but the Bible clearly (and specifically) states in at least 3 Gospels that Jesus was wrapped in strips of linen and the cloth around His face was folded in the corner. He was not covered in one “shroud” that covered His whole body.

Even if He was, why would Jesus leave an image of Himself? It’s not needed for our salvation, is it?

What is linen to God Almighty???

With the blast of the Resurrection, it could’ve still left its imprint on the Shroud. Why do we need to second-guess all of this. It is not definitive yet but there is more and more proof it was Jesus’ body.

Nevertheless, our Faith is not based on a shroud.

Blessings,
Shoshana

Maybe to get some to start to believe?

Today we have commercials on TV, in the past we had paintings to get the news out. Maybe this was one of His ways of getting the Good News out.

Check out the Sudarium at Orvieto. It matches the image of the Shroud.

The Sudarium of Oviedo is a bloodstained cloth kept in Oviedo, Spain and claimed to be the cloth that was wrapped around the head of Jesus of Nazareth after he died.

The Sudarium and the Shroud of Turin took different routes, as confirmed by forensic palynology; it was taken from Palestine in 614, was carried through northern Africa in 616, and arrived in Spain shortly thereafter.

The stains on the Sudarium match those on the head portion of the Shroud, lending strong credence to the theory that they both covered the same man, and the type of fluid in the stains is consistent with crucifixion.

Yes, but if we start believing that the shroud of turin is Jesus, and worship it, then what are we doing? Worshiping a cloth. And there’s still the fact that Jesus was not wrapped in one large cloth, He was wrapped in strips of linen with a seperate cloth for His head.

Nobody as far as I know thinks that the Shroud is Jesus. An image of Jesus, perhaps, but not Jesus Himself.

Have there been any miracles linked to it?.. I would think a relic of that magnatude would.
