This website is a comprehensive directory of women’s religious orders in the USA and includes a link to quite a few Orders that will admit women over 45, even over 50. Most over 50’s taken on individual merit. I live in Australia, so I miss out

Pleasure Lorrie!. …not too often I regret living in Australia, but the above info sure made me regret I lived in Australia. No way here will an Order take a person over 50 to my knowledge anyway.
Some of the Visitation Monasteries will accept women over 45. I believe the
Visitation Monastery in Mobile, AL will accept women over 45 on an individual
basis. I just finished a 5 day cloistered retreat at the Visitation in Mobile.
It is a historic monastery and beautiful. They have rooms set aside for
women who are discerning. The rooms are in the cloister but separate from
the sisters rooms. Women discerning eat and pray with the sisters and you
can walk on the cloister grounds. Their silence should also be respected.
If you want to talk to a sister you can ask permission. They pray the Divine
Office 5 times a day. It is truly a wonderful experience to spend time in
