The reason I voted ‘unsure’ is because I haven’t heard about what happened in Dallas, Texas. I was hoping I would be given a clue or link once I answered the poll! lol

Go to www.spiritdaily.com The story is there as well as pictures and testimonies.

Wow. I would be very interested in what the tests reveal. Wouldn’t that be something?

If it isn’t a miracle, it is a horrible horrible prank and very faith damaging for the many people who cling to these ‘miracles’ to preserve their faith. And it will damage the Church, and damage Catholics reputation.

“Some people say they can see the face of Jesus in the clot. They claim they can make out a beard and a crown of thorns.”

Doesn’t this just scream of people very desperate for a miracle? It’s like reading stories of Mary on a piece of drywall or piece of grilled cheese. I don’t know I’m naturally very very skeptical of these stories.

And wouldn’t you know it two stories down from the Dallas story on spiritdaily.com:

cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_081155418.html

Jesus on drywall I promise I just found this as I was writing the above statement. Why would our LORD show himself on a piece of buckled drywall for people to worship? It just makes no sense to me.

Yes’s and no’s are neck and neck. I chose the 3rd but I did so because I knew nothing about it, so until I learned more about it I couldn’t vote yes or no. And now that I have seen the evidence, I still will not vote yes or no. I will just say that I will trust my Catholic Curch to determine the outcome.
We will see.

What is the normal procedure in an awful event such as this…the boy spitting or vomiting the Host out? Is is normal procedure to put the Host into a glass of water for dissolving?

The boy said that it would not dissolve so that is why he spit it out. The priest put it in a glass of water to see if it would dissolve.

It does make one wonder what is supposed to happen in circumstances such as these.

I don’t mean to sound crude in any way but why didn’t the boy chew?

There must have been more to it than indissolubity.

In the other thread about this, it says the boy was sick and puked. His father told the priest about it & he went in the bathroom and got it out of the garbage. It seems there are a lot of different versions of what happened. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of it all.

The miracle is in the transubstantiation. According to the Bishop’s office, the tests results revealed a fungus or bacteria growing around the Eucharist. (see the thread entitled Eucharistic Miracle for the news item with the results)

I guess we will have to go on believing on faith by the grace of Jesus. Lord increase my faith!

Turns out the “bleeding host” is the result of bactria growing on it.

Got to wonder if there were any Priests or Bishops present while the tests were going on? Was it really tested or was this a conclusion that was determined by Scientists based on worldly possibilities. Hopefully the Bishop wasnt nieve enough to just take their word on this. What about the face of Christ on the host, was that a bacteria also?

The test was done by a doctor from the University of Dallas at the Church’s request, the Host only contains natural forming bacteria from being left in water in the open air for so long.

As for the face of Christ on the host, my guess is overzealous parishoners desperate for a miracle, and there was no face of Christ on the host. Or it was one parishoner that claimed to see this and the news story ran with it.

You can clearly see the face of Christ in the news clip.

Can you link me to it? Because all I saw was a blob of red in a glass of water in the news clip.

There was a news stations report yesterday on www.spiritdaily.com where they showed film of it and it appeared to be an outline of Christ with the crown of thorns on the Host. Not sure if the report is still there, my Wife and I both watched it yesterday and we saw it as well.

Remember the weeping Mary statue in Sacremento California a few months back? The tests were never made public (to the best of my knowledge) on the substance.

I’d guess this one fades from view too.
