I have two rosaries that are made from silver chain that have turned gold. I know that there could be a bunch of different reasons why my rosaries could be doing this (tarnish, chemical change, etc.) or maybe a sign. It’s not like I’m looking for one, but I’ve only met one person that says that they have a rosary that turned from silver to gold. People who took pilgrimages to Medjregorie said that their rosaries have turned gold, but I didn’t take mine to Medjregorie. I was wondering if anyone else saw this in thier rosaries.

God bless 😃

I have mine on a silver/pewter chain…not sure what the alloy is…but it is SLOWLY turning Gold… unless I had a Rosary that was instantaneously changed…like one minute you see it as one alloy and the next, it is an entirely different one, I wouldnt really call it a miracle… I think the slow change is chemical reactions… NOW…wanna REALLY impress me? forget about even instant alloy changes…show me someone who has a Rosary whose links are WOOD or PLASTIC or STRING and THEN it turns to SOLID SILVER OR GOLD!

I don’t think there’s a miracle here.

Inexpensive rosaries are made with cheap brass? chains which have been coated to make them look like silver. Your fingers slowly wear off the coating.

However, looking on the positive side, this is strong physical evidence that you use your rosary regularly and have received abundant graces for doing that.

Is it turning gold (yellowish) in color or is it actually chemically turning to gold? If it is the former, then it can be easily explained but if it is the latter, then you’ve got a REAL miracle on your hands.

The acid on your fingers will ract with a chemicla in the alloy, and create a discolouration if it is an alloy (depending on the metals in the alloy). If your chain is silver plated, they plating could be wearing off after excessive use.

One of my rosaries did turn gold in my hands… The interesting thing, is that first, all of the beads (normally a pearl color), turned silver. Then, a few days later, the beads which were then silver, and the chain (which was silver), turned gold. Many people say that this is because the oils in my fingers changed it, but the change did not happen slowly- it happened in one day. Furthermore, it was accompanied by a physical healing and the answer to my intention. Up until that day, I had horrible pains in my chest which doctors couldn’t explain. After I discovered the change in color, I immediately began to pray the rosary, and the pains in my chest were lifted off of me. Mary does turn rosaries’ colors, but it is very important to note that this is purely a gift- it has nothing to do with the personal piety of the person who prays that rosary.
God bless!

Are you saying that the rosary actually turned to gold? Gold has a certain number of protons, electrons, neutrons, atomic weight, etc. Your rosary actually becamegold?

God Bless you! Sounds like you recieved a true miracle from Our Lady! 👍

In response to your question, I have not had the ions tested, and I don’t need to. For me, it’s enough that the color changed, I experienced a physical healing (which I think is a little more important than the physical changing of my rosary’s color), and I also obtained the answer to each of the three petitions I had asked Mary’s intercession on. What’s more, it would be enough if my rosary hadn’t changed colors. This was a gift to me, and God doesn’t give any gifts that aren’t meant to be shared. I believe He gave me this gift so that He could encourage people of the power of meditating on His life through this prayer. I saw this miracle and became even more convinced of the power of Mary’s intercession and the mercy of God when He gave her such a beautiful role in His Body, but “blessed are they who have not seen, and yet believe.” Keep praying your rosaries, friends! God wants to give you many gifts through our Blessed Mother’s hands!

I have a rosary with glow in the dark beads. Now if these beads were to never dim out, then that would be something. (It has these beads so I can find it while it is still luminous).

Go with God!

Before Desert Storm started, my Mother’s rosary began to turn gold. It started at the cross, and in a few days it was completely gold.

This was not caused by any chemical reaction. If that were the case the gold would have been “appearing” all over the chain and the rosary in sporadic areas. The idea that this miracle is caused by oils in the hands is complete rubbish.

PEOPLE HAVE FAITH!!!

My Mother is a very faithful devout woman, and all of us were in awe over the miracle appearing before our eyes. She showed her rosary to the priests at church and many parishioners.

When the war came to an end the rosary slowly began to turn back to it’s original pewter. I remember looking at it, and the Mary medal was exactly half gold, half pewter, as though it had been dipped in gold.

The color slowly crept down over the next few days and eventually disappeared.

For those of you who do not believe, please do not disrupt the faith of those who do…rather, pick up your own rosaries and begin praying. My Mom thought that the gold meant war…and indeed, it did. Only a few days after her rosary turned gold, the war started.

If this is happening suddenly, I say we need to spend more time praying the rosary because maybe Our Lady is warning us of a larger war than the one in Iraq?

Or for those of you who have the gold rosaries now…what are the exact circumstances during which they turned gold? Timeframe, etc?

We had a very close friend pass away last week after a long battle with cancer. Her family is comprised of very devout Catholics as are some of our friends. During a prayer service for her last month, the rosary she was praying with turned a golden color. Her rosary had been blessed at Medjugorje and this was the 2nd time that she’d ever prayed with it.

Her brother-in-law’s rosary (also blessed in Medjugorje) turned gold as well.

On Tuesday night, at the prayer vigil at the funeral home, my brother-in-law’s rosary also turned a golden color. He didn’t notice it until he got home that night. The next day, at the funeral, I saw it myself.

The entire family & circle of friends has viewed these events as a miraclulous sign from Mary that our friend was being watched over and that our prayers for her had been answered.

For those of you who believe, be certain that your belief is not misplaced for scripture has it that we are not to mislead others in matters of faith and therefore you need to be careful what you label as a “miracle”.

No, it’s not! It’s a scientific fact that certain metal alloies will take on a yellowish goldish appearance under the right circumstances. If I bring you a status of buddha and have it turn gold, will you call that a miracle or would you look for another explaination?

My previous rosary, that I gave to my grandfather, the links turned gold.

The one I have now I have prayed on like never before. I suffer with Christ and Mary during the sorrowful mysteries, agonizing with them, and going into a deep meditation I never had achieved before. The links of the rosary are still very silver, but the connection medal (where you say the “Hail Holy Queen”) has changed to gold (not completely) and the crucifix is turning too - the places on Jesus’s body - his arms, feet, thorns, etc. There has also been a time during this deep meditation that the tiny rosary book I prayed with smelled like roses. Then it stopped.

I understand there will also be skepticism. But I believe miracles can be small or large, and we have to be aware of them. Do we need to have proof, and like Thomas, let our fingers probe the wounds of Christ? Or can we just be faithful, and give thanks to God for small and large inspirations that only deepen our faith.

Whether you choose to believe or not any of this is up to you. I think if we had complete and total faith, lacking of any doubt, doors would opened to us like never before. It’s certainly hard to attain.

I have a rosary that was blessed in Medjugorje and I have prayed on daily for over a year. I have several parts of the chain that have turned gold and also the crucifix has turned red in certain places (Jesus’ head, chest, and hands). This may all be chemical, but I believe in a Greater Power.😃

My rosaries have always been plain white plastic ones… they’ve never turned any colour. However, over time, they become incredibly smooth from the wear of my fingers on the beads.

I have a rosary that belonged to my deceased mother-in-law with purple glass beads. The chain was black and the corpus on the cross was black. The cross itself was silver. My sister-in-law sent it with some pilgrims to Medjugorie to be blessed by Blessed Mother. Now before I sent it, I tried to clean it up real good. I tried to get the black off the chains and the corpus, but it wouldn’t come off. I don’t remember what I used. Anyway, when it came back and my sister-in-law gave it back to me, the chains were turning gold. (The corpus remains black to this day.) There are links that connect the crucifix and also the center medallion that are silver. These have never changed. Other people’s rosaries were turning as well. This all happened in 1985 or '86. I hadn’t prayed on this rosary much before, but it is my favorite, by far. It is the only one of my rosaries that have turned gold. I think that it is a gift from Our Lady.

I have an expensive rosary…chain, medal and crucifix are all sterling silver. The chain has turned gold…Don’t now why, or even when it happened. I have other rosaries, and none of them has turned gold.

I am not suggesting that people misplace their faith. I’m stating what you so eloquently did…GOLD is not “yelllowish” as the result of the alloys. Of course I don’t disagree with the fact that alloys can be affected. But GOLD rosaries ARE a reality and a blessing. YES< they should be examined to be sure the person with the rosary isn’t mistaking the gold for alloy…but as I have myself witnessed, of sound mind and body…the gold rosary cannot be in any way compared to color changing as a result of oils in the skin rubbing on alloy metals.

This is not the same thing as rubbing Buddha’s belly.

I have a wrist rosary that appears to have turned to gold. I haven’t had a jeweler verify it though. It’s one of those all-metal silver coated rosaries where each Hail Mary bead is made in the shape of a rose. On the back of each rose is a saint medal.

At first I thought the change was due to the chemicals in my skin which then wore off the outer silver layer. Then, one of my patients took a look at it and swore that it was gold. He tried to buy it off me. He insisted it was gold. I told him that I was sure that it wasn’t gold, because I only paid 30 bucks for it. He still swore that it was gold, and wanted to give me a couple hundred bucks. LOL! I couldn’t bear to part with it though … besides … I can’t sell it because it’s been blessed. Selling something that you know has been blessed is a sin.

One of these days, when I have some spare time, I’ll have a jeweler appraise it … and see if it is, indeed, gold.

And I have another rosary that is changing colors, though I don’t think it’s necessarily miraculous because the metal is cheap. Got it off a street vendor in Mexico. But it’s just a sign that it’s been well used.
