I know there are a lot of people from the mid-Michigan area on this forum and I thought you might like to know that the Central Michigan University Knights of Columbus are bringing in Dr. Janet Smith, a faculty member at Sacred Heart Major Seminary to give her talk: “Contraception: Why Not.” Admission is free and it is Tuesday, April 4th at 7 PM in Plachta Auditorium on the CMU campus in Mt. Pleasant. If anyone has heard her speak before, you’ll know that it’s worth it.

God bless.

Dr. Smith actually taught the lesson on contraception/family planning issues for my RCIA course while she was still teaching in TX. She was truly an amazing teacher. She is interesting to hear and very knowledgeable on the subject without coming across as “preachy.” I didn’t really have much of a clue about why the church held its positions on these issues prior to hearing her speak. It was a real lightbulb moment for me during my conversion.

Yea, I’m a student at Sacred Heart (diaconate). I can’t wait to take one of her Moral Theology classes.

She is also speaking at a pro-life rally in Ottawa, Canada this May
