I could use a little advice from southern California members. I will be taking my wife and kids to Carlsbad in April for vacation. We will need to attend Easter Mass while there. In years past we have visited St. Patrick’s, but we were curious whether there is any other place in the Northern San Diego County area where we might find a mass that is a little more liturgically conservative.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I don’t know of a parish in that area that I would recommend as being liturgically conservative, but if you don’t get any recommendations in that regard, why not go to mass at one of the missions near Carlsbad? There are two nearby, Mission San Luis Rey and Mission San Juan Capistrano.

Mission San Luis Rey is ultra liberal. Mission San Juan Capistrano is slightly better on the NO front. If you go to San Juan Capistrano, choose the TLM at 8 AM in the old Serra Chapel at the Mission, and arrive plenty early. You won’t be disappointed.
