I was married outside of the church and have since divorced. I did not receive communion while I was married since it was not performed in the Catholic faith. Since I am now divorced am I able to receive communion again?

First is the question of whether or not you should avail yourself of the sacrament of Reconcilliation; objectively it would appear so. If you are no longer in that relationship, and have reconciled yourself with the church, then, yes.

It actually depends whether you were civily married or ‘protestantly’ married. if you were married in a protestant church it should still be valid. the marriage would be still valid too. You need to talk to your diocese’s tribunal, they can easily get you on your way.

First, man did not make the decision on who can or can not receive the Lord’s Supper! Second, Jesus gave us the Supper so that we might remember His work on the cross.

It is sad to see any marriage break up for any reason, but one thing for sure is that God loves us no matter what!
