“More than 250 priests, theologians, psychologists and criminologists from 51 countries gathered at a Catholic university in Rome for the start of the week-long conference, the only one of its kind in the world.”

“Topics to be discussed this week include: Angels and demons in Holy Scripture, How to recognise diabolical obsessions, Witchcraft in Africa, Afro-american cults in Latin America and Paedophile pornography used in Satanic and occult rites.”

More than 250 people from 50 countries arrived in Rome on Monday to attend a week-long course “Exorcism and Prayer of Liberation” at the Catholic university, Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, in Rome.

Father Anthony Barratt, a British priest who is based in Albany, New York State said that demand for the rite is growing. “I think it is partly due to the Internet, which makes it (satanism) so accessible. Films and television programmes are also a factor. There’s a fascination.”

Over the six days, delegates will explore the topic of exorcism and prayers of liberation from different points of view. The course will also will touch on magic, cults and satanic worship,

Without faith in Jesus, it is dang easy to permit dark influences into one’s life and then suddenly one day, that person finds himself (or herself) in too deep and needing help to get away. One should not stare into the abyss …

The faithful need to know how to defend themselves and their loved ones. Ephesians 6:10-20 is particularly relevant in this regard and there are a fair number of online resources for spiritual warfare to help Catholics.
