Fetal Stem Cell Research

My question is in regards to the “Voter’s Guide for Serious Catholics.” On pages 3 and 4 it is stated that “recent scientific advances show that any medical cure that might arise from experimentation on fetal stem cells can be developed by using adult stem cells instead.” Can you point me to something more in-depth that treats this point specifically?
