I was dismissed by a Napro practice. I really wanted to see a Napro doctor. I’m sad because the staff felt like family and I loved going to a doctor who offers an alternative to the pill. Napro has helped many people and I’m a big believer in it but right now I feel stuck. Any feedback would help.

Did you ever follow up with the advice from your last post?

Moral Question on hysterectomy Family Life
I have been seeing a Napro doctor for some time now. The doctor is recommending a hysterectomy for a condition that I have. Currently, I am not experiencing any symptoms. If my condition did start to cause problems, then I would like to pursue other options that would allow me to avoid a hysterectomy. The doctor knows how I feel but seems to be very pushy about me getting a hysterectomy. How is it ethical to advise a person to undergo surgery that carries risks to treat an asymptomatic condition…

I found a surgeon that will perform an operation so that I wont have to get a hysterectomy.

Because she said that my case was unusual.

If the doc says they can’t help you and you need to see a different doctor, I wouldn’t argue the point. I would see the other doctor!

I did see a specialist on the recommendation of the Napro doctor. The specialist didn’t assume care of me though because the focus of her practice is cancer but I don’t have cancer. The hard part is finding a doctor that can treat my case without using birth control. Unfortunately only Napro doctors do that.

I am so sorry heard your napro doctor fired you!

I hope he don’t really fire you, but explain that he can no longer do something for you because he is not qualified enough to find a cure to you!

can you ask him any doctor’s reference?

I would be great if you find another napro doctor, even if it can be complicated in a close area, i guess.

On the contrary, i pray that you find a doctor enough qualified and that agree to care for you with consideration of your values!
i may not be perfect, but i hope you the best!

First of all, thanks for the supportive words. She didn’t say that I was fired. She did tell me that my case was unusual and that gyn oncology is used to managing unusual cases. She told me that she would refer me to gyn oncology, and transfer my records. She didn’t refer to another Napro gynecologist but would only refer me to gyn oncology. Of course I didn’t ask either. One of the issues that I have can best be corrected by gyn oncology, and the other issue that I have, I will probably go to see a reproductive endocrinologist. As for a gynecologist, I pray that I can find another Napro doctor. I do get sad about it and had hoped that I would be able to keep this doctor throughout my years because she isn’t much older than me.

It is hard because I’ve had an almost 3 year doctor patient relationship with her. I did go to the gyn oncologist with an open mind so that she could figure out what’s wrong. Currently, I’m trying to find doctors that will be able to manage my care. Thanks for your response.
