Wow I just gave my first confession. What an experience! Very humbling. I should have done it sooner in the RCIA process. I had been dreading it, but in reality there was nothing to worry about.

Just wanted to give a big 👍 to the sacrament of Penance.

I Can’t wait until Easter!

Today I just had my first confession. Beforehand, I was so frightened but afterwards I felt so happy and light!

Congratulations to you both, yes you know you’ve made a good Confession when you actually feel the power of the Sacrament and like a great weight has just been lifted off you shoulders.

My son just had his first Confession today. He was so happy, not only to be doing it, but also to find out that it was not big deal! I wish when I was a kid that the teachers explained this sacrament as well as they did in my son’s class. One of the priests was so surprised that the kids were so well prepared. Way to go!

BTW, welcome to the church!

I’m still preparing for mine, but threads like these are great to see (especially for scaredy-cats like me).

Well, like lots of things that are important and good for you, you’ve got to feel the fear and do them anyway! And it feels wonderful to have done it.

I’ve been many times, I still get nervous each time I go (but then I’m naturally a bit of a ‘scaredy-cat’ as well!)

Were all scaredy cats! But we pray for the courage and its so amazing when its over!

This is the one thing I was dreading last year about this time. I don’t think I’ve ever been more scared in my life (seriously) to where I was almost in a panic. Once I did it I laughed knowing I had freaked out for no reason.

The sacrament of reconciliation is such a beautiful thing. I now try to go at least bi-weekly, a good practice to get into even when there are no mortal sins that have been committed.

Good luck to both of you and all the others here that will be joining the Church this Easter! 🙂

A homily by a good priest made this point: Satan works very hard on you when you’re in line for confession. He’ll present you with any excuse to prevent you from going! Of all the things he hates, he must especially hate this wonderful sacrament. My wife, our gradeschool-aged kids, and I make a point of going to confession as a family activity about once a month. - Rob

Congratulations!

I won’t get to go until after Easter. I was worried about it, but the more I think of things that I might find that I need to confess, I’m getting more comfortable with the idea.

While confession is a very serious matter, I can’t help but think of things I might need to confess that are a little off beat. On the other hand, I have a couple items about the Church that I’m not happy with that might be construed as a sin, although not necessary for confession? I don’t know. There’s a lot about what needs to be confessed that I don’t know, yet.
