For an increase of literacy of all kinds in all people

Hello dear CAF friends,

Please pray for an increase of all kinds of literacy in people I know and meet. Illiteracy of all kinds seems to be rampant. Please pray for an increase of the gifts of literacy, especially musical and poetical and historical and spiritual literacy, amongst all people. This seems to be a very severe problem. The only kind of literacy some seem to have is that which enables sophistry and effective lying and deception, which enables those literate in sophistry to manipulate and fool the uneducated, illiterate, and ignorant. We need a supernatural infusion of divine literacy in the principles of truth, beauty, and love for all people.

Also, I would like to ask for prayers that the intentions of our Holy Father Pope Benedict regarding the virtue of charity or love as he lays out in his two encyclicals God is Love, and Charity in Truth are carried out in accordance with God’s will, whatever that may be. The idea of illiteracy popped out as I am reading Chapter 2 of Charity in Truth right now. Also, in regards to spiritual literacy, Pope Benedict warns in the second to last paragraph of that document about the dangers and errors of a kind of neurological reductionism, which reduces the human being to mere brain matter or neurological tissue and electrical processes totally denying any valid Christian spirituality. I would ask that you pray that all the fields of science that deal with human cognitive or psychological activity and processes be infused with truthful principles not in conflict with or contradiction to or in neglect of the spirituality which Jesus Christ promulgated to us through His one , Holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. This is what I am seeing in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, neurology, etc. is a total anti-spiritual anti-Catholic neurological reducionism, which is spreading into the Church, so much so that clergy are being held hostage to it now.

May you belong completely to Jesus and Mary.
 
Lord, please grant this world more scientists who believe in you and in the immortal soul, and who are not mere rationalists/materialists/secular humanists. Amen.
