Well, I went on to EWTN’s site and found this. Do you think that EWTN edited out the first part or do you think that that’s a traditionalist’s fabrication? Being that he only answered one of her questions on the current EWTN version, I’m leaning towards the former.

I was browsing this article and came across the following e-mail exchange between Fr. Levis and a Catholic layman. Do you think it’s legit? Any comments?

I would be careful of anything that had it’s original press in the Seattle Catholic. It’s a radically traditionalist dissent journal. It’s ironic to read of them critiquing a bishop for possible disobedience/disloyalty to the pope (who they go on to trash a little latter, as well).

How do you figure?

Because constant carping and criticism of the the Church are either dissent or leaning toward dissent.

I did a web search using “Levis Novus Ordo”. The screen shot in Post 1 on this thread is a complete fabrication.

Previous Question Next Question

I copied this from the EWTN website. This is accurate.

Latin Novus Ordo
Question from on 09-08-2005:
Dearest Fr. Levis
God Bless You!

Our former Pastor stated that the Novus Ordo Mass was more historically accurate (going back further in history) than the Tridentine, what could he possibly mean by that? He also said that he once celebrated a Latin Novus Ordo, is that simply what it sounds like?

He also said he need a dispensation to celebrate the Tridentine, is that accurate?

I cannot ask him myself, otherwise I would. He is missed terribly by all in our parish!

Thank you for your reply

Sincerely;

gem

Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 09-09-2005:
Dear Gem, In America at present, no priest is to celebrate the Tridentine Mass without permission of his bishop, without an Indult from the Ecclesia Dei Commission of Rome. God bless. Fr. Bob Levis
