On the 15th December 2006 just 3 weeks ago tragedy had struck our family.
I received a call to go to Red Cross Childrens Hospital immediately. My brother-in-laws’ son, Zach Petersen who was only 18months old and a pal Nathan Miller 14months old had fallen into the pool at the day mothers house.
Zach was in critical condition, by midnight the doctors had confirmed that he was severly brain damaged and might not last the night…Nathan was hanging on.
At 10:15 the next morning 16th December with friends and family filling the hallways the doctors switched the machines off. Nathan died on the 23rd December.
The death of a child, I’m told, is the worst possible pain we can experience. Worse than labor, a million times over. Worse even than the death of a parent or spouse. Because at that moment, part of you — the part that was supposed to be your legacy to the world — has been terribly and utterly ripped away. Without warning, and without reprieve. It is a scar that no amount of time, or the best plastic surgeon, can ever take away
Shauna and Clint are having a difficult time dealing with this loss and I would like to create a global prayer chain to pray for them, and immediate families, the Petersen and Rushin Families may God hold them strong in the year ahead.
Please assist and forward this email to all who will carry the chain forward
THE PRAYER FOR CLINT AND SHAUNA
Compassionate God,
soothe the hearts of Clint. and Shauna.,
and grant that through the prayers of Mary,
who grieved by the cross of her Son,
you may enlighten their faith,
give hope to their hearts,
and peace to their lives.
Lord, grant mercy to all the members of this family
and comfort them with the hope
that one day we will all live with you,
with your Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit,
for ever and ever.
