Sirach it is good news. I am sure someone will have “issues” with it though. Someone on another thread posted a falsehood about The Salvation Army about it’s profits going on something other than charity. I found out otherwise by more than one source. Philanthropy Watch gave this organization an “A” for use of the donations given,charitywatch.org/toprated.html and The New York Better Business Burea reported 92.52 % of all donations(collected in New York) go on services for the community, homeless shelters and disaster relief.newyork.bbb.org/charityreports/details.aspx?id=1035&page=1&name=salvation%20army®ion=Any&category=Any&search=1
I think it is beautiful news. Someone has done that in St. Louis for the past ??? years - well, it seems forever, it’s become a beautiful tradtion of Christmas. It’s great to see the tradition spreading. Hope it continues!
Watertower, it’s been happening in Chicago too!
Wish I had a gold coin to throw in! I have been bell ringing this season. It’s interesting. Chilly too, but worth it. cnn.com/2004/US/12/19/gold.coins.ap/index.html
Chicago bell-ringers have brought in 10 gold coins so far this year.
