I didn’t know where else to post this, but has anyone read the book that mentions green oobly in it? I remember reading it when I was a kid, and my dad was thinking about it the other day, too. I think that the dad in the book was refering to boogers. 🙂 Anyway, it would be a fun gift to get my dad if someone could help me out with the book title.
Thanks.

“Bartholomew and the Oobleck.” A Dr. Seuss story that was in our 4th grade reader.

Whoa, that was 1955!

You can make some green ooblek as a joke to serve to him before he opens his gift!

Just mix a few drops of green food coloring into 1/4 cup room temp water until the water turns green.

Mix in about 1/2-1/3 cup corn starch until you get the consistency of pancake batter.

Serve it in a bowl for dad to enjoy playing with before you give him the book!

You may have to adjust the amounts of ingredients to get the results you like. If you got a huge family and want to share with everyone, google search “green oobleck recipe” and you’ll find tons that make enough oobleck for a class of 25-30 kids 😃

Have fun!

PS don’t pour oobleck down the drain, it will clog. Toss it in the garbage instead!

No, it wasn’t a Dr. Suess book. It was just a phrase in the middle of the book somewhere when the family was talking about sneezing. It was such a minute part of the book that I can’t even look it up on Google. Thanks for your help though.

why not ask him what the book was…bring it up in casual conversation

You could try these people:

These people collectively know everything. They’ve helped me out with a few stumpers:

You might want to crosspost to rec.arts.books (groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.books?lnk=sg&hl=en) )
and rec.arts.books.childrens (groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.books.childrens?lnk=rgr&hl=en)
