Help me, I'm being overwhelmed at a pro-abortion blog!

Believe you me, I can take 'em all on my own. If I quit my job and become some sort of internet recluse. Then I thought, “internet recluse? That gives me an idea! I get help from CA!”

I know the topic is DARK and their defenses are intellectual fluff, but they do a very good job of filtering out the loonies (I almost feel honored they have not deleted my posts so far). So please try to friendly, funny, but not syrupy or cynical. ABOVE ALL NO SHOUTING!!

But they did say I could ask for help, so…

SOMEBODY HELP ME!!

My website is down at present (!!!), we don’t know why but suspect an infection. What can you expect when you have nearly 1000 pages on suicide, abortion & euthanasia?

The main reason I gave up my position as head of a crisis pregnancy center was that I wanted to develop the website the way I counselled women in a crisi pregnancy.

You can’t use sanctity of life references if people don’t believe in God and the sanctity of life. The way I saw it you had two ways to approach the problem:

i) Convert them to Christianity and they would then believe in the sanctity of life, or
ii) Convince them that the unborn child is a person worthy of protection and having rights, then they might be more open to the Christian message.

As a person who prefers to make decisions after having obtained all the facts, that is the approach I have taken. Present factual information, with reputable references and sources and, where possible, revealing quotes from pro-aborts, and you will have a better chance of preparing the soil, allowing the Holy Spirit to work.

Yes, thank you. I understand the policy and consider it a very good idea.

I know you cannot tell from my post, but I was not trying to solicit a swarm, but to recruit one or two intelligent folks to help me even out the score. They are more or less dog-pilling me…
 
I know how you feel. I’ve been there, done that and actually stopped visiting another discussion board because I was attacked… to include my children and how I was raising them as pro-life, etc. (got told I was going to harm their intellect :rolleyes: )

Anyway… I’ll keep you in prayer seeing that we can’t know which site to visit. But that’s alright… I’ll raise it up in prayer! 😃

Just don’t quit!!!

We expected to come under attack so we built in many, many safeguards. I have a Catholic pro-life doctor acquaintance who told me he regularly prints off pages to hand out to colleagues and patients.

since when is a baby part of it’s mother’s body? Are you saying my mother had two brains and both a vagina and a penis while she carried me?

Where to start?!? All children belong to God. We are only stewards. In the same way, our bodies are not our own–they are ultimately God’s.

No child is unwanted. God wants every single one. And, I guarantee that there is an adopted parent for every child who is aborted.

By your same argument, every woman who has a baby and decides she doesn’t want the baby–can practice infanticide.

I can tell you have been indoctrinated by the secular culture of death. Think about what you want your life to count for–death or life.

Also, we place too much emphasis on our pleasure/comfort in this world. The easy way is seldom the way that is honorable and pleasing to God.

I’ve been checking out some of your other, very interesting posts.

Your powerful use of the English language, very convincing debate style and deep knowlege and understanding of the Catholic faith reflects well of your formation. And your profile reveals that you’re only seventeen. WOW! That’s amazing. I’m so impressed. I can hardly wait to see what you’ll say next. I’ll bet your parents spent lots of time with your formation in the faith and are so very proud of your vast knowlege of Catholicism and the world in general. You really ought to consider politics.

Yes, I suspect you’ll make lots of friends on these boards.
 
There is always adoption. Why it isn’t hailed as the most logical, life-affirming, politically correct, respectful of both mother and child near-solution that it could be if fully supported is just beyond me. But hey, I’m only two years older than Wammy101.

Hi Wammy, please know I do understand what your saying here. I was once pro-choice. This is such a difficult area to deal with and was a deep struggle for me to overcome. What it came down to for me was indepth science programs on PBS dealing with human sexuality and conception. The power and beauty in the miracle of conception touched me so deeply and profoundly. Someone who is pro-choice asked me, “well, where do you say life begins?” after seeing what I saw, I had to say…“from the very begining” This is a gift from God and that is what I finally wrapped my mind around and if I believe this then I can never do anything to support abortion.

I know this doesn’t really dive into what your suggesting, in terms of telling women what to do with thier bodies? But it does give you an idea of where many are coming from?

The hard thing is we do live in a country where we cannot put our own religious ideas on someone else and this is where you are the most concerned I’m sure. I am also very concerned about this and the part I struggle with the most.

I think if we put our energy into lessening abortions by having real solid programs to help these poor women that we don’t want having abortions, instead of fighting all the time to get roe vs wade over turned. Maybe we can get rid of them without this? In other words put our money into actually helping to stop instead of yelling abortion is sinful and carrying around offenesive signs.

What the heck is wrong? It is MURDER!
It is heresy for a Catholic christian to support such an issue. I think that one should abstain outside of Marriage of sexual relations, this will prevent unwanted pregnancy. If one is Married and decides they dont want the Baby, there are plenty of families that cant have a Child that would be very happy to adopt. Abortion is Murder period. It goes against scripture when the Lord says Before I formed you in your Mothers womb I knew you, and is a violation of the commandment thou shall NOT Kill.

My wife and children are alive today because abortion was illegal in 1968 in Canada.

Only an insensitive clod with the vilified heart of a murderer would argue that some lesser choice exceeds the value of the lives of my family.
