I have a question regarding the Holy Eucharistin the Tabernacle.

We are a military family going to a Navy Chapel for Mass. I have found it interesting to find out that the Eucharist was left in the Tabernacle during the Protestantservice. Now I’m not too sure how I feel about that for many reasons. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? What about the respect that should be shown to Jesus present in the Eucharist? As Catholics believe that the bread and wine are changed in the concretion, I’m not sure how to address it, or if I even should. Am I being nit-picky, or is this a legitimate concern that needs to be addressed?

It is kind of strange but I dont see anything wrong with it. Some newly converted Catholics I know began their conversion process by spending time with the Lord in Adoration. We must not receive the Lord unworthily but anyone can come for Adoration, so I do not see why non-Catholics should not be allowed around the Tabernacle. Unless of course the Protestant pastor preaches on a “symbolic” John 6 and says something bad about the Tabernacle.

It is strange but I think it might do some people good to be in the Lord’s presence. When I am in Catholic churches I feel Something that is not present in a Protestant church. I really do. Perhaps some of the Protestants will feel something different too, and put two and two together???

There is only one chapel for both Catholic and Protestant?
In most of the Navy Chaples I have been in the worship space is shared.

Guess I just got spoiled being in the USAF. At least that’s what my former USMC friend tells me.

Yes I would say you did.

Thanks for the help!
