I just found out my mother had 'the operation'!?!?!?!

!??!?!? I just found out my mother had that operation so she can’t get pregnet (please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject, i’m not even sure what it’s called)

I’m assuming this happened a looong time ago and she doesn’t seem to think it was a big deal. Well I was sitting here on typing the good ol forums when I heard her say this in the living room and whirled around. I don’t know if she did this for medical reasons, but I doubt it. I can’t tell if she really knows how serious this is since she just laughed it off when I told her and now I’m rather stumped as what to do.😦

err, it is a bad thing right? like i said, I don’t really know much.:o
 
Let it be! No good can come of your getting into a discussion (argument, whatever) with your mother about what happened long ago. Pray for her and let God handle it. Really.

what you do is nothing except pray for your mother, love her, honor her, obey her in all things that are not sinful, as you always do. What you do not do is judge her. You have no right, that is God’s province not yours. YOu also eductate yourself on the objective moral teaching of God’s law, interpreted and transmitted by the Catholic Church, and apply it to your own life. Yes it is objectively wrong to undergo surgery or to resort to any other chemical or surgical intervention designed specifically to avoid conception or to end the life of a fetus. Since you do not and cannot know all the factors that were involved in your mother’s situation, and since it is none of your business to ask, let it go. what you also do not do is discuss the private life of another person, esp. a family member, with third parties.
