I really meant to post this in the “Ask and Apologist” section, but mistakenly posted it in the “Apologetics” section. Our priest and our Bishop’s office stated that this was acceptable. Can you elaborate?
At our church, some communicants receive the Eucharistic Body in the hand, proceed to the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) distributing the Precious Blood, who then takes the Eucharistic Body from the communicant’s hand, dips It in the Precious Blood and then administers both the Body and the Blood to the communicant on the tongue.
This isn’t self communication, so is this practice allowed?
