Because for some reason they don’t want me to dress girly, like wear short shorts or cut off shorts or such.

Assuming you are a man, why would you want to wear short shorts? They are unattractive on men and certain parts of the male anatomy tend to pop out. I lived through the 70s, saw plenty of men in short shorts, and am glad the trend died out.

No one here can guess the motivations of your parents, especially based on the limited information presented here. However, there are several non-homophobic reasons to not want your son to wear short shorts. First of all, they look stupid. Secondly, they are immodest. Next, they are far too casual to be worn for many occasions. Also, on males in particular, they can be straight up indecent.

If you are an adult it diesnt matter. If you are a minor you might want to take their (name removed by moderator)ut into consideration. But you probably should dress modestly and gender appropriately for the sake of all.

Dude, that’s just plain rude.

You posted a random question with very little context. None of us know anything about you or your situation.

One trend i wish would die out is the wannabe gangstas wearing fubu clothing and shorts that end way at the knee.

Surely there are options besides girls’ booty pants and gangsta pants? You’re gonna have to look really great in those hot pants in order to persuade the wanna-be gangstas to change their style.

Maybe they just know it’s not a good look and that people will tease you or worse. It has nothing to do with homophobia, and I don’t know why you even would think that.
