With all due respect to Cardinal Renato Martino, what right or duty does a public school have to teach Islam to Muslim students? Does he really believe that a public school in, say Iran, will reciprocate by teaching Catholicism to Catholic students? And would we want them to?
Cardinal Camillo Ruini is correct in saying that the Italian government cannot support teaching something that is at odds with the government’s own constitution, “for example on the question of civil rights, beginning with religious liberty, and also on the equality of men and women in marriage.”
When is it predicted that European countries will be Islamic? I think it slips closer to that time each week.
