Everything is about justice. It is at the heart of conflict. Just watched a multi-part series about Hitler and the Nazis. The heart of his promise to the German people was about justice, Convincing people that they are not getting it is the easy part. People rarely get perfect justice, hence there is nearly always some room for that type of anger that stems from being treated unjustly. Hitler dressed his brand of justice up in what appeared to be very nice clothes. Unity, dedication to high ideals, strength, honor, etc. etc etc. At the end of his life, both his new wife, and his own dog were dead by poisoning. Even if one knew nothing about him but the fact that he had his own dog poisoned, I think even a child would know that he was unjust.

Justice. Where ever there is conflict, there is a dispute about justice at the heart of it. Love and mercy, the ability to forgive, all these ideals and more, maybe everything that the Lord teaches go into creating perfect justice and perfect justice goes into them. And that is what it is about. God is the God of perfect justice.

May the Lord teach us to have to perfect justice.

Injustice however loses its power, in the face of forgiveness. For what sin once forgiven, demands retribution. This I think is the heart of Christianity, that men not seek justice, but rather offer forgiveness.

Yes, and God’s justice is based on love. Humans, OTOH, will try to justify their particular acts based on whatever desires they may have, “everyone doing what is right in their own eyes” as Judges 17 & 21 put it, usually having to do with some selfish interest or another: pride, covetousness, etc. From ISIS to the local gossip we have to believe that what we’re doing is right in some manner or another-in order to do wrong.
