Our youth participating in the arts, is not a bad thing. What exactly were you refering to?

How stupid! If I want to go to the ballet, I will- and I’m sure a local ballet theatre could put on a better show.

Have any of you ever been to a youth conference??? The dancing was not part of the mass. It WAS part of the day’s events. Youth Conferences last all day and in our city, it’s a two day event. Yes they do have entertainment and there is nothing wrong with that.

According to the website this picture is listed under “Liturgy.”
Dancing should not be any part of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Have no fear. Pope Benedict XV1 will have a crackdown on litugical abuses very soon.

Let’s try some logic here…

The mass is a form of liturgy

All liturgies are not masses.

That dance was not necessarily happening in the context of a mass…

IF you recall, when the Pope visited St, Louis, they had an evening prayer service…and at that service…ta-da…they had dancers…dancers who were blessed by the Pope afterward.

So, before you start shooting your mouth off about abuses that aren’t abuses, perhaps you should get your facts straight

Maybe you should clean out your eye balls and look at the pictures YOURSELF, especially page 2. You tell me that is not a mass.

Cardinal Mahoney is well known for the stunts he pulls.

I have no problems with dancers. Keep them out of the mass!

I went thru several of the pics but not all.

I dont think one can really tell that they were dancing while or in between a MASS. It could be as harmless as a Dance before the Mass or after. Unless more pics at the end show the HOST being elevated while all those kids are around the alter, I cant tell.

Its obvious the STAGE in an AUDITORIUM was used for both, and if true, I dont have problem as long as there wasnt a Church nearby or on the grounds that could have been used for a Mass… but no proof I seen it was all happening consequtively.

Attended a beautiful Ordination of a Nigerian Catholic priest. Dance is very much part of their Masses. The African culture uses dance to praise God. They did not dance on the altar, but in the aisles.

Although liturgical abuses run wild at events like these…at least, for the sake of the Archdiocese, this year’s pictures don’t document the extent of the abuses as in years gone by. This is the same youth confrence which gave us the now famous dancing nuns of incense.

It’s hard to take you seriously when you recommend sites like this as an “Ultimate Resource for all Catholic blogs-ever” posted on Sept.11,2005.

I didn’t see very many Nigerians in those pictures. Mass is not a multicultural showcase.

I’m sure he was exaggerating. Besides, there’s nothing wrong with this site from what I can see (I must say it’s better than the sites showing chopped up babies that people have been posting lately without warning us that they are graphic). He just thinks- or at least he thought 7 months ago- that it’s a good blog.
