In Martin Luther’s ‘On the Bondage of the Will’ Luther seems to present a doctrine of double predestination similar to Calvinism. This work and his Catechism were his proudest works so he certainly didn’t change his views. Lutherans today don’t seem to put much emphasis on predestination and some seem to reject Luther’s view. So, what exactly is the Lutheran view on predestination? Lutheran theology is ultimately monergisitc, doesn’t monergism lead to the doctrine of double predestination?

BTW, sorry I posted this in Philosophy. I should have posted it in Non-Catholic religions.
