Man, they are SO LOST!

I was just over on the Baptist Board, and they are having a little debate: “Catholicism…cult or not?” I could not resist, I just had to read on. So I went through a few posts. Nothing has changed. I am consistently amazed at the level of ignorance out there about the Catholic faith. How many times do we have to say that we do not worship Mary before they believe us? How many times do we have to say that we are not saved by works? I tell you, friends, I think that people have become so obsessed with winning the argument that they no longer will recognize reason even it hits them in the nose. Anybody got any ideas on this one? I am really tired of ignorant people acting as if they know something about being Catholic just because they read a book by some bigot.

I do have a suggestion that I am going to undertake.

I have a copy of:

“Pillar of Fire Pillar of Truth” that Catholic Answers put out. According to the book I can get 1000 copies at 30 cents apeice. I am going to invest 300.00 during Tax Refund time and put this 30 page booklet on some front porches…

Just a small way to spread the truth.

What is the point of lashing out? Isn’t everyone are trying to let other see Jesus in us?

Anyway i have been bearing all those negative comments coming from catholic for many time, coz i do not see a point of telling them of and if i’m not careful with our words, it shall be lashing out catty remarks which in return committing a slander. The truth is from the God and not from Humans.

So fellow brothers and sisters, as a spiritual Christian ,let’s forgive those who have hurt and anger us. Amen

She said that she was Baptist, which I told her it was great to follow Christ. She ask me my religion and when I replied Catholic, she turned her back on me.:bigyikes: It is so sad. Why do we have to focus on our differences when we have so much in common?

This is what bigots do. There way or the highway, and there is nothing in between. It is sad, but it is true. This is the price of misinformation being handed down from the “ministers”.

I have experienced this so much, that I feel we catholics need to do the door to door leaving of Catholic tracts to counter the work of Satan…
 
Check this one out…Just pulled this off another website. This Lutheran minister is asked if he considers all people who hate Catholics to be his friend. Here is what this “expert on Catholicism” says.

I replied, "My friends are not ‘any’ enemy of Catholics. My friends are those who love the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word above man-made tradition.

This is an EXPERT who has never looked at the Catholic faith a day in his life. Check out the rest…I will warn you that this will make you a bit angry.

Yes, we have to keep fighting the good fight. The bigots and misinformed protestants have much larger audiences than we individual Catholics have. Any Protestant minister who has a beef with the RCC can complain to entire congregations while we have to refute their claims one person at a time.

It is really a question of numbers. If we can find ways to reach lots of people at once with the full truth and beauty that is the Catholic faith, we might be able to at least start an open dialogue instead of hurling insults at one another.

PLEASE NOTE: not all Protestant ministers have a beef with the RCC and not all Protestant ministers preach against the RCC. There really are many who either admit that they don’t know or have no problem at all with our beliefs.

I like your approach Joey. Thanks for inspiring me. Where can i get these cheap but invaluable books you speak of?

It is truly sad that so many Christians do not have the fullness of Faith.

Yes it is. I have no beef with those who are not “pretending” to be informed. My problem is with the people who claim that they are, and are really not. They are the dangerous ones and one day, they are going to have to answer for that.

Just another amazing Godincidence in my walk with Christ, I am a Catholic Christian who was partly convinced that I needed to go to the Catholic Church by an Evangelical Minister, (the full measure was the Real Presence). I am continuely thankful that God led me to an Evangelical Church minister who was more concerned with souls than the number of people sitting in his pews.
