She’s no more above the law than anyone else is.
I had trouble finding the article with the proper title. All the others had it as part of a Cancelled News Conference Story. Maybe the MSM \was trying to bury the story due to it being a Democrat:rolleyes:

I love this----Just shows the difference in reaction from the parties. Had it been a republican who got upset because someone didn’t recognize them and then got in a fight…you would see dem’s screaming from the top of the roof-tops that the republican think they are above the law and can’t treat the average citizen (the cop) with respect while they are doing their jobs…but since it was a dem then it was just a mis-understanding…Misunderstand…yea right…you don’t normal starting hitting people just because they don’t know you and ask you too follow the rules like everyone else:tsktsk: .

*Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday labeled it “a mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition of a member of Congress.” She added that the police officer was not at fault. *“I would not make a big deal of this,” said Pelosi, D-Calif.

Ron Bonjean, spokesman for House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., responded: “How many officers would have to be punched before it becomes a big deal?”

With the rhetoric comming from the Democratic leadership (including Pelosi), I might consider this a threat.

It might even be called obstruction of justice – attempting to intimidate the police.

Nancy Pelosi is a hoot!

A police officer gets assaulted, and it’s ‘not his fault’, how nice of you Nancy.

And she considers the ‘unfortunate’ aspect of this incident the fact that the police officer didn’t recognize a member of Congress.

How bout it being unfortunate that a member of Congree assaulted a police officer doing the very duty Congress commissioned them for.

It would be interesting to see the video of the incident…could be theCHP over reacted… :hmmm:

From all the articles I read, she walked around the security checkpoint to stop her and she put her hand on him to stop him. If you or I had done that, there never would be a long investigation to see if a warrant is necessary; we would have been arrested right there on the spot.

That’s what I can’t figure out. If I were a police officer and someone slapped me at a security barricade, that person would be face down eating gravel with his/her hands behind his/her back and the cuffs going on.

Someone, maybe a supervisor, stepped in and said who she was?

Why won’t she wear her ID card or name tag, as she has been asked to do, so these incidents can be avoided? It seems as if she is just trying to force a confrontation.

Aimee, and the rest of you folks in Georgia, remember this come election time.

Congress does not think they are subject to the rules. I think they should have to go through the metal detectors and show ID like anyone else.

She isn’t in my district…she is popular in her area…however she was voted out once.

Our Congressman is John Linder 👍

I wish she would take just a little of her religion to work with her.

I had to leave before her press conference, or whatever that show was called, really got underway. Speculation was that she was going to play the race card. Did she?

I think so…

TV didn’t have some of the questions from reporters…she says the officer assaulted her by inappropratly touching her …stopping her

…seems like McKinney camp is saying they may sue…

She did, indeed, use the race card–accompanied by Danny Glover and Harry Belafonnte. She says the only thing she did wrong was being a black lawmaker. As I recall from my six years in Atlanta, this is not the first time she has done this kind of thing. Twill be interesting to watch.
