Hi
I’m trying to download some fun songs for my children and me to enjoy together. Obviously, they have to be clean, and kids tend to like “up tempo” kinds.
Genre doesn’t matter, country, dance, pop, disco, etc. For instance, we’re using John Denver’s “Thank God I’m a Country Boy”, and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”.
“YMCA” and “We Are Family” are a couple others that enjoy, so you get the idea.
Do you all have some suggestions of songs you remember fondly? The Partridge Family, the Monkees? Johnny Cash? There must be ton!
Thanks

I love rock-n-roll-…joan jett
shout…lloyd williams
Dancing Queen…ABBA
Play That Funky Music…wild cherry
Old Time Rock & Roll- Bob Seeger
Sweet Home Alabama **- **Lynyrd Skynyrd
The House Is Rockin’- Brian Setzer Orchestra

We love Dan Zanes!
Fun ofr adults and kiddos. Even our 22 year old Nanny listens to it at home!

Pottery Barn makes complilation CD’s which are really fun too. Not jus t"kid" music, but things we can listen to together.

Maybe OT but for 2 more months I’m still a 30 something and I have 17 and 18 year old sons. They have started listening to music their father and I listened to when we were teens - Boston, Journey etc…I love the look on their face when I start singing along 😃

Have you heard anything by his previous band, the Stray Cats? They’re pretty good 🙂

A few other bands: the Flaming Lips, World/Inferno Friendship Society, the Talking Heads, the Monks, the Kinks, the Pogues, the Ramones, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Tom Lehrer.

Here’s a few off the top of my head:

SWEET CAROLINE - Neil Diamond
LA BAMBA - Ritchie Valens
HAZY SHADE OF WINTER - Simon and Garfunkel
TEARS OF A CLOWN - Smokey Robinson
SUPERSTITION - Stevie Wonder
GET READY - The Temptations
LET’S TWIST - Chubby Checker
GIVE A LITTLE BIT - Supertramp
STAYIN’ ALIVE - The Bee Gees

My son has really gotten into Weird Al Yankovick lately. I remember listening to him when I was his age, so now another generation is getting warped! DS loves to watch his videos on youtube. (So do I! 😉 )
