I do not have a dog in any fight with Christians or Muslim but I do have a question is it true or false that Muslim man believe when they die they with go to heaven and have 50 virgin women waiting for them at the time.
I;m not trying to upset any one,I just heard this today an was looking for the truth.Thank you and bless you all.
 
Its something very similar to that,but i don’t know exactly how many virgins a man is granted!
 
The Prophet peace be upon him said that they will have something like 70 or 72 virgins, this is not to be taken literally. In Arabic the number 70 or a 100 is meant to emphasis abundance or alot of something. For example Allah tells the Prophet in the Quran that if he were to ask forgiveness for the hypocrites 70 times Allah won’t forgive them. The Prophet peace be upon him also said that he asks Allah to forgive him more than 70 times everyday. Again it doesn’t mean literally 70, but it means alot. Paradise will be forever and one can have as many pleasures as he wishes.

Yes women get whatever they want as well. Actually the hadith doesn’t say they are virgins, however the Quran does say they are chaste and that no man has ever touched them before. They are maids or spouses. In paradise the most beautiful thing to man will be his wife in this world and vis versa for the women. Some scholars interpret those 72 women to be just maids or servants.
 
you will be with your ‘earthly’ wife in paradise…and the virgins could either mean literally virgins or pure…but they are usually supposed to be like your servant or maids…
and i dont know where the number 72 comes from. probably from some hadith… and the people who says that suicide bomber blow themselves up for 72 virgins are pretty ignorant… anyways im not judging anybody but if you blow yourselfup and kill civilians, its likely you aint going to paradise anyways.

So the virgins that you get to have at your disposal,are they women that were once on earth living earthly lives?..or purely created for heaven waiting for you to meet them when you die?

What if we don’t really like our Earthly wife, and the idea of spending eternity with her nagging me, doesn’t seem like Paradise at all, but more of a personal hell? She’s my cross to bear in this life, and I accept that, and all her faults, but eternity with this woman is mroe than any man can bear.

I say this half joking but half serious too, my wife is a handful, not to sound callous, but I don’t want her for eternity, and I don’t remember ever signing up for that. Whether they admit it or not, there’s plenty of men and women that would agree with this.

Any stipulation that we can get JUST the 70 virgins and no wife? Thanks.

What happens if you’re widowed, and re-marry? Do you have two Earthly wives in eternity? Because that sounds like Mormonism a bit.

this is taken from the Bible when Jesus tells Peter he must forgive 70 times per 7.

what if a man had 4 wives and 3 divorced? sex is for reproduction, will women be pregnant in paradise? or is it just sexual enjoyment in the presence of Allah?

then why should you care if they are virgins or not?

It is in the Islamic Traditions that we find the 72 virgins in heaven specified: in a Hadith (Islamic Tradition) collected by Al-Tirmidhi (died 892 CE [common era*]) in the Book of Sunan (volume IV, chapters on The Features of Paradise as described by the Messenger of Allah [Prophet Muhammad], chapter 21, About the Smallest Reward for the People of Paradise, (Hadith 2687). The same hadith is also quoted by Ibn Kathir (died 1373 CE ) in his Koranic commentary (Tafsir) of Surah Al-Rahman (55), verse 72: “The Prophet Muhammad was heard saying: ‘The smallest reward for the people of paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from Al-Jabiyyah [a Damascus suburb] to Sana’a [Yemen]’.”

Why are you asking all of these useless questions, it doesn’t seem like your asking to learn. If he had 4 and divorced three, lets see what happens. Hold up your hand, pick up 4 fingers, then take away 3. How many are left? If you are able to do first grade math your answer should be one. Thus he will have one wife left and the others are no longer his wives. There is no reproduction in paradise. Also don’t think of the next life as this one. Surely they are nothing compared to each other. Can you compare the world in your mothers womb to the real world when you came out? Totally different. This life is like being in your mothers womb compared to the next. Totally different.

Please if you wish to have a serious discuss let’s do so. If you want to ask questions about things that are of no benefit to us, I choose to spend my time wiser.

Why not begin at the basics? Such as our concept of God?

I’ll give you some reason other than the Bible…many people i know visited Medjugorje and saw the Virgin Mary…after that experience, those who lead a sinful life stopped it completely HERE ON EARTH…if such an experience made them chaste on earth,.i just can’t imagine how can physical lust be preached in God’s presence.

It seems you have a problem with physical lust, like there is something wrong with it. It is natural. Also that is not the only thing that keeps us chaste, we do it for God’s pleasure, because he told us to. I never met one Muslim who stays chaste just so he can have a wife in heaven. We are allowed to get married in this life, however humans naturally like food, drink, and their spouses, thus God tells us that we will have it in paradise as well.
