I claim that nothing is more beautiful then Jesus words in the gospels. This is proof of their truth. No one has matched them. But if you can produce just 10 words that rival Jesus’ words in the gospel I will convert to Islam. Pick any part of the quran or Islamic poetry that you like. Post it here and take your best shot.

PS: Of course I get to be the judge. Good luck!

I keep mentioning the subjective nature of this challenge every time the Muslims bring it up. I’m glad you’ve illustrated the point the way you did.

Muslims,
I am waiting. Do you fear my challenge? If you lose will you convert to Christianity? Come on. Take your shot at converting cestusdei.

‘And slay them wherever you find them’ I love this verse. Most beautiful and bravery words I have ever heard from a man that claimed the prophet of God. Jesus’ own words have nothing compared to this beautiful verse…

PS: unlike father cest, I wont convert to Islam, because Jesus’ death on the cross for me is more important than only beautiful words that even shakespares, a simply human, could do it…

the challenge of the quran is to write a single verse like it… yet muslims to this day cannot produce anything in the likeness of the Bible, which they freely accuse of being corrupt and man made. …we could argue this point by simply challenging to produce similar verses and poetry to Shakespeare, Blake, Gubran Khalil Gubran, Al-Mutanabi and others… the ability to produce beautiful classical arabic or poetry does not allow one to claim the gift of prophecy… even some of the greatest scholars in the arabic language did not see any miracle in the eloqunce of quran’s arabic language; Abul-Ala’ Al- Maarri, Ibrahim Al-Nazzam, Ibin Hazm, Al-Khayat &many other modern scholars, such as Taha Hussein who was pressured, & whose material concerning this issue was banned.

072.001 Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur’an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital!
072.002 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord.
072.003 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son.
072.004 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah;
072.005 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah.
072.006 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly.
072.007 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment).
072.008 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.
072.009 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.
072.010 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct.
072.011 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths.
072.012 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight.
072.013 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice.
072.014 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct:
072.015 ‘But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire’-
072.016 (And Allah’s Message is): “If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. …”

like 14 verses spoken by the jinns, exactly in qur’anic language, after all, it is part of the Qur’an. I dont see any difference between the arabic in this sura and the other suras…or maybe allah gave the jinn a divine tongue?

well…the “eloquence” was never a criterion for including or excluding a verse… it was always the question if there were enough witness who heard muhammad say this or this…wouldn’t it be so much easier to judge by looking at a verse & say, “this is allah’s language” and “that clearly is not allah’s language” based on the eloquence of the verse under research? well, this didn’t seem a valid criterion for mohammad’s followers … so one has to wonder how this can be a criterion today for the miraculous nature of the quran.

Lets compare from Hindu :

Say: He is God, the one and only;
God, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him.(quran)

God is one; God’s name is Truth;
God is the immanent Creator;
Without fear, without enmity;
Immortal in form;
Unborn and self existent
(Known by) the grace of the Guru

Neither male, nor female,
Nor neuter is He (by gender)!
Neither discernible, nor the existent,
Nor the non-existent is He!
He appears in whatever form conceived,
And remains other than such!
Indentifying the Lord as Narayana (by name),
Is the best of such

He, the divine, the formless spirit;
He is the outward and the inward;
And He the unborn;
He is beyond life, beyond mind, luminous;
Supreme beyond the immutable! (sanskrit 4 BC)

He hath no master in all this world.
There is none that shall rule over Him.
Nor feature nor distinction hath He;
For He is begetting cause
And Sovran over the lords
of these natural organs;
But himself hath no begetter,
Neither any sovran (sanskrit 5 BC)

So if the poetry of quran is a sign of prophethood, maybe the fans of Shakespeare or Homer should say: i believe in one Allah and Shakespeare/Homer is his prophet.

All in all, this “bring a soura like it” is an utter nonsense from a human point of view, but to allah it seems very logical.

ooo i can be ignorant too:
“I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27)

“Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. I am sent to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law” (Matthew 10:34-35)

yes no matter how we learm, we always need to learn more…am happy you understand these quotes (unlike many muslims) but what does it have to do with the thread? and you DO understand the passages you quoted don’t you?

How could I be mocking Islam? They make this challenge to us all the time. Are you mocking Christianity? I will extend the invitation again to post something that compares to the gospels. Are you afraid to try?

Shadowcry:
This is ridiculous. Are you just saying this to mock Islam.
what do you think about the quranic challenge? can such a challenge come from God?

You have your faith and whatever they give you will not change your mind. Your a priest, a hypocrtical one at that, and whatever they say will not convince you. So you are mocking Islam with this challenge.

if his challenge is ridiculous, it is because the quranic one is…if the quranic one werent ridiculous, you wouldnt have said : you are MOCKING islam with a challenge that ISLAM/mohammad/allah/jibreel started.

First I only read this challenge.
Second two wrongs don’t make a right.
Third if you don’t want to convert good for you, you don’t need to bash Islam either.

good…what is your opinion? could it be God who gave such an absurd one?
Second two wrongs don’t make a right.
so the quranic challenge is obviously wrong even from a human point of view.
Third if you don’t want to convert good for you, you don’t need to bash Islam either.
on this thread, you have the right to ask any question…islam is already bashed by the Bible itself…God is not pc. Muslims are our brothers, but mohammad is called anti-Christ in the Bible.

Yeah and you are mistaken in the Koran. I only read this challenge so I only know this. Interprting the other challenge from you appeared to be my fallacy.

Shadow, this same challenge is made all the time to us. Are you therefore bashing Christianity? Or don’t you have enough confidence in the quran to put it up against the words of Jesus?
